this post is in good intention, so dont take it thatttttt literal, or should you?????........

I, for the most part, think that the routines i see people listing here to be complete sissy x 1000000, when using aas we should pound the shit out of our bodies when in the gym and let them grow when we get home, but they arent gonna grow if we dont pound em in the gym, does anyone get that?

i.e. back training...... 4 exercises is simply not going to do it for a ronine colemanesch back......deads to start, a row, a pulldown, another row, another pulldown, and then seated row, now we are talking....:)

come on people, we are juiceheads, not pansies ;)

do you think arnold got that big by doing 185lb deadlifts.....or 9 sets for chest?? hell no...

dorian used a 1 set to all out failure for each exercise, but he was 110% intense, and he even says that many people cant reach the level he was at, and after seeing blood and guts, i too can believe it, some of us stop 4 reps short of failure on the leg press, even though we "think" we cant do another, thats where the real man is, cause we can do that extra one, or extra 4, its in you guys, im telling you, and that is where the real size comes from, but it takes the ability to take the tampon out and not be a sissy...............:p

love, J/P

Your dead right bro. Its amazing how many people complain about not gaining any size and yet they continue to do isolation exercises. Build the foundation first with the mass builders and push yourself to failure.

Training...

If you can't "hammer" your back in 12 sets (4 exercises - 3 sets each) then your not working out with enough intensity. I don't care if you're "using" or not.

Another factor is that the more experience you have with lifting, the less actual volume you need to work a target muscle. I've been lifting for over 15 yrs. and I don't need nearly the volume that I once required. Dorian Yates could get away with 1 or 2 heavy work sets and make gains because he lifted for many years and became very efficient at activating muscle fiber. His central nervous system was very efficient at muscle fiber recruitment in order to move big weight. However, he was also genetically gifted.

Well said. I've been lifting for eight and a half years now and have found the same thing. Lower volume and higher intensity has served me many times better than years of high volume, ego lifting. I do 9-10 sets for chest, which has been described as "sissy." That's two presses and one fly excercise. Once I've done that, there's no way I could do a fourth excercise any justice. If I could, it means I slacked on one of the first three.

Someday you will learn (jp) that weight training is not about beating the shit out of yourself, saying "Arnold did this" and "Dorain did that", or otherwise feeding your ego.

Gymtime I see where you are coming because when I do bis I am very intense and go as heavy as I can. I mean I make all kinds of funky faces getting those last two failure reps. Where sometimes I the weight just stays there I can move it up and eventually my bis give out and I let it hang.

But if I tried with chest with that same intensity I think I could injure my rotator cup especially on incline I mean it hurt when I go somewhat heavy much less crazy heavy. See what I am saying?

Not everybody here is a juicehead either.

And maybe some of those f*cking idiots who lose all their gains after a cycle because they train like they're still on juice, and are still barely 200 pounds of sodden, gyno ridden sh*t might do well to pay attention to lower volume, "sissy" routines.

I would dare any of the f*ckers here who call low volume 'sissy' to run through a workout with me. 10 sets total for ANY bodypart can make you want to puke.

Well said, gymtime.
