New guy introduction...

Hello,

I've been lurking here for a little while, so I thought it would be polite to introduce myself before I start posting anything. There seems to be a lot of cool people here, and the "off color" boards are freaking hilarious.

Anyway, I'm 30 years old, and have been lifting since high school. My first interest was bodybuilding, but now all my lifting is strength oriented. I am a novice competetive powerlifter. I also like the Olympic lifts. I am fortunate enough to have trained with and presently train with several national and world class powerlifters and Oly lifters.

I live in Colorado. I am originally from NYC, and have also lived in FL, KY, OH, and AZ.

That's about it for now. Thanks for reading.

Ah another one that felt the force and turned away from the dark side (bodybuilding).
Always good to have new people posting.

Hey, guys. Thanks for the welcome!

Back when I first started lifting in the late 80's, I was living in Ft. Lauderdale. Everyone who lifted was "automatically" a bodybuilder. It was all about beach muscles. I didn't even know anyone who was into lifting for strength. I guess it served it's purpose for me at the time, but I also wasted a lot of years with nonsense training.

I shifted my focus to strength when I moved to Colorado a little over 6.5 years ago. I was now in the presence of real strength athletes, and I educated myself beyond the muscle comics.

Anyway, strength is where it's at for me. I lift in long sweat pants and a long sleeve sweat shirt, I'm covered in chalk dust, and I don't lift in front of a mirror.

I have seen the top of the mountain, and it is good.

Take it easy. Thanks again for the welcome.
