losing strength like crazy

im losing 5-10 pounds on my big 3 lifts every week and its incredibly frustrating. people who were weaker than me by far in the gym are now stronger than me, mainly because i keep getting weaker.

week 1-2 i cut 10lbs of fat with intermittent fasting + carb cycling + low intensity cardio. i got alot weaker during these 2 weeks
week 3 i got food poisoning. with the constant diarrhoeia and vomitting my strength levels were sapped.
week 4 my squat is at a measly 280lb, down from 400.
week 5 my squat actually got weaker at 275

the gym was closed tuesday-thursday every week due to holidays and renovations so i couldnt follow the westside conjugate method properly.

can someone please help me with this problem? this is seriously depressing me because i worked so hard to get to 400 and now i lost it all.

Bro take a week or two and rest. Do some light blood flow stuff at the most and eat. To me it sounds like you are overtrained and under eating. The fact that you were sick doesn't help. If you squatted 400 a month a go you can still do it. Your body is just beat up and needs rest and food. This happens from time to time to everyone. Let your body heal and get back to normal.

Yeah your muscles are tired and sick and depleted of glycogen etc. drink a shitload of water.

Your strength loss came from you losing weight rapidly, which is not good, losing 10lb in 2 weeks is bad bad idea. Also food poisoning is no joke, 2 yrs ago i got a really bad food poisoning, constant diarrhea and vomiting my brains out, not eating anything for 2 days, went to hospital because i was so dehydrated that i almost died. i lost 11 lb in 3 days and when i went back to the gym i lost 20lb on my bench press, but i gained it back quickly..
i dont think its over training, you just went on really bad diet and did some stupid shit, remember to take things slowly, the slower you lose or gain weight the better, i made a big mistake bulking to 230lb and i was fat as fuk, now im down to 160 ripped, couldn't be happier, slow wins the race in the long run.

i dont feel fatigued or depressed. no joint pains either so i dont think its overtraining.

but to be sure i will take a couple days off.

could the cause of overtraining, IF i am overtraining, be that all the assistance excersizes im doing are full body/big compound movement types? im doing heaps of power cleans, deadlifts, barbell rows, military presses, dumbbell presses, good mornings, and more squats to complement the squatting and benching i do.

i had food poisoning AND i had sea sickness where i was stuck on a boat throwing up for 7 hours straight in the same week!!.. a very fucked up situation .. i developed diarhea on the boat and my piss was dark orange, i came really close to dying .. with sea sickness throwing up doesn't make it go away, it keeps coming and coming until you get back to land so i was lucky the trip wasn't longer or i would of probably died. i lost a lot of strength and weight.. bout 8 pounds of weight. i remember taking a few days off the gym and going back and my strength was gone.. it was scary

but so what.. you will make it back. just keep working at it and start eating again. I'm now a hair less stronger than i've ever been and i weigh close to the most ever.. so you are gonna go through some downs, its totally normal and okay. you will come back.

adrian peterson blew out his knee and then this year ran for 2100 some yards, so the body is capable of making amazing comebacks.

quick weight losses will cripple your strength and mass which is why i NEVER endorse doing that unless you are comping. get rich quick schemes, fat loss schemes, weight gain schemes.. all that shit is bullshit.

Don't worry to bad. The way you muscle grows basically by volumizaition via satellite cells that sit below the muscle. The satellite cells enter the muscles cells causing them to expand. The cells don't want to burst, the the grow. The size will go away but the cells remember how they had to grow last time they experienced strength training, so they'll take the que to grow... but this time comparatively much faster.

Rest for a week or two eat lots of veggies and Dairy/Fish etc you still have muscle memory so you'll pop back to yor old self before you know it!

oh i see why i got so weak so quick now. thanks guys

but the thing is, i didnt even try to loes so much weight so fast. it just happened, im not even sure how i lost so much fat it is almost like i wake up one morning and im surprised how flat my stomach is. what really surprised me is how thin my legs got. i thuoght that since i squat so much my legs are mostly muscle but i was wrong. around a third of the girth of my legs were purely fat it was horrifying to see my legs get so pathetically thin.
