Iraq Diet Plan!

Want to lose a quick 40 lbs. ?
1. Join the Army.
2. Spend a year in Iraq.

BINGO! PRESTO!

Lose 40 lbs.!!!

Seriously, 16 hour days, 2 MREs and a hot tin can(t-rat) meal a day, hot as hell, wearing or carrying 40-60 lbs. of gear, and chain smoking all day will melt the fat
AND muscle
:worried:

RIGHT OFF!

the first pic is kind of older, but good enough for a before pic,
the second pic is after 5 months in Iraq, Sept. 2004.

Sorry for the confusion everybody, I'm back at Fort Livingroom now. I was in Iraq from late April 2003 till late Feb 2004.

The food and facilities at all of the mid-size and larger camps are awesome now. The chow is contracted out(KBR) and you can eat all you want. There are gyms and theaters and internet and all of that good stuff. The soldiers are
really being taken care of. Ofcourse there are always exceptions, but when I left I was so envious of the cool shit coming in , like trailers with airconditioning and morale stuff. I was really proud of the Army that it was doing so much to make the soldiers as comfortable as possible when they have
down time.

When we crossed the berm in April, the supply lines were really short. The campaign was so swift that we were way ahead of the good stuff that wouldn't come for months. The first 6 months or so we ate MRE's and every third day we had a hot T-Rat. A T-Rat comes in a big multi-serving can that is
heated in hot water, get out the can opener and voila, hot meal.

All in all, it was a HOT, SHITTY summer and I must have drank gallons of water a day. I went from 230 to 190 in about 7 months. I 'm back around 210 now and trying to put back on some muscle. Anyone want to donate some "supplements" ? :p

TRUESOLDIER

well im glad you got something good out of it. its not necessarily the healthies diet, but shit what else can you do out there? thanks for your service in iraq!

Awesome shit bro, Been over here for 9 months my self, but I am deffinatly not trying to lose weight. You will get what you want out of Iraq, depending on where you are!

and deffinatly not the healthy way to lose weight bro, but hey what works works, keep up the good work, and keep your head down bro

Peace

I would like to know how many calories are in 2 MREs and one tin of hot food.

it can't be more than 1500-1700 so if you weigh over 170 your fucked? you would think they would be trying to keep our soldiers in top physical condition not starving them to death

Calm down bro, an MRE has about 1200 cals in it if you eat everything!
I am not sure what he is talking about hot tin?? whatever that is, I would think he would talk about t-rats, or food delivered to him in mermites, but not sure what he is talking about

I know if you are on an actual camp, and not out on a mission, you got plenty of food at the d-facs!!!!!

so its ok bro, we are being taken care of, as good as can be expected atleast

peace

The military keeps it's soldiers in ok health.

If you are a soldier it doesn't help to weigh 230lbs solid when you have to ruck march all the time and wear 30lbs worth of gear at least. Not to mention dealing with the heat.

Soldiers need to be wiry and enduring. Not hella strong and big.

that sucks. I guess I liked to think some swole motherfucker could head over and beat some ass but that isn't the reality.

I could definately see, endurance over total strength, for the situations at hand.
