Want to lose a quick 40 lbs. ?
1. Join the Army.
2. Spend a year in Iraq.
BINGO! PRESTO!
Lose 40 lbs.!!!
Seriously, 16 hour days, 2 MREs and a hot tin can(t-rat) meal a day, hot as hell, wearing or carrying 40-60 lbs. of gear, and chain smoking all day will melt the fat
AND muscle
RIGHT OFF!
the first pic is kind of older, but good enough for a before pic,
the second pic is after 5 months in Iraq, Sept. 2004.
Sorry for the confusion everybody, I'm back at Fort Livingroom now. I was in Iraq from late April 2003 till late Feb 2004.
The food and facilities at all of the mid-size and larger camps are awesome now. The chow is contracted out(KBR) and you can eat all you want. There are gyms and theaters and internet and all of that good stuff. The soldiers are
really being taken care of. Ofcourse there are always exceptions, but when I left I was so envious of the cool shit coming in , like trailers with airconditioning and morale stuff. I was really proud of the Army that it was doing so much to make the soldiers as comfortable as possible when they have
down time.
When we crossed the berm in April, the supply lines were really short. The campaign was so swift that we were way ahead of the good stuff that wouldn't come for months. The first 6 months or so we ate MRE's and every third day we had a hot T-Rat. A T-Rat comes in a big multi-serving can that is
heated in hot water, get out the can opener and voila, hot meal.
All in all, it was a HOT, SHITTY summer and I must have drank gallons of water a day. I went from 230 to 190 in about 7 months. I 'm back around 210 now and trying to put back on some muscle. Anyone want to donate some "supplements" ?
