Hi... Complex carbohydrates are very important in a diet(so I've recently learned...kind of always 'knew' it my self but I also had a CARB FEAR before I finally realized the truth
). I also have a problem with controling my intake when it comes to NUTS and natural peanutbutter (a very wise woman warned me about the evil power of peanutbutter....how it will call your name at night when you are on a strict diet..hehe)...so I just simply DONT have it around me and it takes care of that.
Take a look around the sticky's at the top of the forum (are you new to the EF?)...they can help you A LOT as far as figuring out what sort of diet might work for you. This, then again comes down to what your goals are
The thing with those low carb diets or in your case NO carb diets....it tends to be really difficult to not crash from them. If you eat mainly protein, it can lead to all kinds of health issues(if for very long periods of time) such as ketosis which causes liver, pancreas, and kidney damage. Also, when you end up overeating at night, try to plan out your meals so that you have 1 meal left before bed time. I like to eat a 4-6oz. serving of lean mean and a small salad or 1c broccoli. This fills me up and then I dont have a problem not eating. Keeping good fats in your diet (such as flax oil, olive oil) will keep you fuller throughout the day, which will also help you not feel hungry later in the day. My food intake is 5-6 meals a day. I keep a log that also keeps my butt in line where I post the meals and what time I eat them. For example:
8am: 1/2c oatmeal with cinnamon+splenda, 1 scoop 100% whey
11am: 1/2c brown rice, 5oz. chicken breast grilled.
Research a lot on EF...there are sooooooo many great threads that helped me a lot. Its great that you are asking questions too, thats what really helped me out a lot!
Best of luck!!!
