well....... maybe its just a quinky dink that all of these skinny guys are just training using the powerfactor method of training. u know, lifting heavier than normal weight in your strongest range of motion. naaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!

heres a tip, unless the guy can already full rep squat 405 and he is just using it for partial, he is kidding himself.

beacuase i do this sometimes, but i do it with 900lbs on the bar.

oh well, i wonder if i would be a god to them??

I just had to add to this. I see the same things in my gym. Of course I'm a old woman but I do go atg. I don't use a big wt but then I don't need to. But what really gets me is all the supposed experts who say that atg is dangerous to knees. Mine feel great, I do use a slightly wide stance. I'd love to find the research mentioned above on the advantages of atg over parallel.-Valerie
 
I really do wish i had of kept that research now....
I figured that it was safer for myself years ago though. I have a knee that had been heavily damaged when I was a teen, and the doctor said I would have a limp forever, NO chance that I would ever squat again. Well I've been squatting ass to the floor for many years now, up to 450 for reps,a nd my kness have never felt better
 
Needsize, I was going to say a similar thing. My right knee is blown out good. If I go parallel it will fail 50% of the time without a brace and maybe 25% with a brace, and it will keep me up that night and kill me the next day. I've been going ATF for a while now wiht a light wrap and my knee, although noisy as hell, doesn't fail and feels fine the next day. The only thing that hurts is my quads from a good leg workout.


Its bullshit myths like HulkRow's that will keep people from acheiving their potential. Not to mention the topic of injuries:mad:
 
yea I see these guys all the time. I want to go ask them just what the fuck is that supposed to be working. Then they have the nerve to walk around like the are huge and tell other dumb asses that they can squat 405. Fucking idiots!!!!!!
 
Scotty -- I hear ya. :)

Needsize.. I had a bad knee injury in an Extreme Paintball tournament at the beginning of July (I never get tired of telling people that) lol -- and it has hurt me somewhat up until I did squats this past Sunday. After those squats, I can now run up and down stairs without pain... and even run for short distances (like a quick sprint)

Squats are the miracle that never was... LOL :)

Citrus, that's the shit I keep telling people, squats are IT, the ones who wont listen are the ones too scared to put in any real work.....
 
......I did not put the "LOL" at the end of that post because i wanted to see what people would respond with.
What i wrote was what a "teacher" at my old school said when i was doing real squats.
