Anabolic Diet. Need Help please.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and I need some help! :)
I'm 18 yrs old, 5'10", ~140lbs. For the past three weeks I have been trying to follow the anabolic diet. My particular diet is this.
Breakfast- 4 egg omelet with cheese, 4 slices of bacon
Snack - 3 sticks/oz string cheese, ~2oz. pepperoni
Lunch - 2 slices yellow cheese, steak/burger/chicken I don't know how much
Snack - 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Dinner - chicken/porkchops
Snack - 3 sticks/oz string cheese, ~2oz. pepperoni

I understood that I should have gone into ketosis? during the first two weeks. Should I have felt or noticed a difference? The only changes I have noticed are maybe a slight increase in vascularity, during the first two weeks I went from 140 lbs to 135 lbs. After the 3rd week I am back at 140 lbs.

I'm thinking this diet is not very healthy long term. I would like to replace the pepperonis with something else that is easy but I am not sure what. I can't really think of a good question to ask but any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks
 
If you're 18 years old, 5'10 and 140lbs, my personal feeling is that you dont need to trying that type of diet. I cant imagine that you're too fat at only 140lbs. I would suggest a 40/30/30 (pro/carb/fat) breakdown of your diet and hit the weights while your body is naturally growing.

we can not say what the 5lbs are in any way... could be all water, muscle, or fat.


That's what I was saying. If you're a guy at that weight I really woudn't go on the anabolic diet. I used it as a bulk with good success but I store bodyfat fairly easy. It doesn't look like that fits your description from your stats.

If you're a female, 5'10 140 lbs. is already fairly thin. (Correct me if I'm wrong ladies :)) Going down any further would look really unhealthy in my opinion.

Even with that lanky model frame, yes it is, esp @ 5'10. Unless it's skinny fat which is what I'm ass-u-ming ... and that is not very attractive at all
 
In order to get into ketosis quickly you may need to completely eliminate protein from your first 3 meals after the carb load. I've found this to be very effective in achieving ketosis quickly. Drink flax oil.
 
Yep I'm male. I haven't figured the protein/carb/fat yet. I'm takin fish and flax seed pills. I'll try the diet a couple more weeks and see what happens. If I'm not happy maybe I'll try the Anthony Ellis thing. Though I have noticed increased vascularity so i hope that conitnues. =D
 
What are your goals? I'm assuming that cause you're doing the anabolic diet that you're trying to get bigger. If this is the case, at 18 i'd say just follow a normal clean bulking diet, round 3000-3750 cals a day. don't forget carbs! It's hard as hell for anyone (me especially!) go have a good day in the gym without any carbs in them. Ketosis is great if you're trying to get down that last 10 lbs. that's driven you nuts for a while, and you already have enough muscle to support it, but i certainly don't reccomend it for bulking, or for someone as small as you. eat, eat, eat, but eat clean.
