IIFYM is bs unless again your macros are made up of mostly clean foods. other wise the best bodybuilders would be sitting around eating pop tarts and donuts pre contest. A carb might be a carb and fat may be a fat, but there's a lot more to it than that (glycemic index, sodium etc.) maybe for the average Joe who wants to get in shape, follow iifym. But for optimal results, proper calorie counting is the better of routes.

And if you're referring to me as "old school" because of what I'm saying, go back and research why "old school" dieting is much more beneficial than this new day of age were people believe just eating whatever you want as long as your macros are point is fine.

If you can take in two cheat meals a week when cutting and still drop bf, props to you ahahah. I only have one every week to help boost leptin levels.

Buddy you most likely have no idea how pros actually eat. You'd be baffled. Glycemic index has been proven to have absolutely no effect on body compostion. Sodium is a bodybuilders friend. Any pro knows this, it stores water in the muscle, what one wants. George Farrah says every bodybuilder should up their sodium absolutely no reason not to. Also lots of studies on pros using candy as their only carb source and still just got as peeled, a calorie is a fuckin calorie

Also proper calorie counting is exactly wjay iifym is. Science is proving more and more and people are changing their whole outlooks on dieting and realizing they don't need all sweet potatoes and brown rice and 1.5x protein per pound. Upped my "bad" carbs lowered my protein and I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. Plain and simple it works and anyone who disagrees simply has not tried it correctly.

From what you're throng to justify, I have more of an understanding on how props eat than your idea on how you think they eat, my supplement store that's run by a corporation has a few sponsored pros, who I've been privileged to meet. And did I once state sodium is bad lol? I was comparing ratios ahhahaha. Eg. Let's say a can of baked beans and chicken breast have roughly the same macro ratios. But what is better in terms on body composition and LBM to eat? Do you seriously think that they both have the same effect just because they have the same macros ? There's a lot more to it than just a 'calorie' and carbs/proteins/fats. And candy yes, might be used to help carb up. But like I said, do you think their diet has been structured around what you're trying to say? Absolutely not, because it's counterintuitive and does not give you OPTIMAL results. Study's say a lot of things, it's about what works for the most part and it doesn't take a genius to figure out eating healthier foods will have a much better effect on the body, in so many was. Well structured diets with food from good resources is much better/healthier on the body than believing you can eat fast food and binge as long as it fits your calories. I'm not saying iifym doesn't work, I'm saying it's not the best for optimal results if you get your food from shitty resources.

For body comp macros is the only thing that matters. It's been proven time and time again this site is the only site who fails to see that. Beans chicken whey eggs egg whites bread protein is protein doesn't matter the source. I get a forth my protein from milk for gods sake lol. And when pros eat 1000g of carbs and 250 g300 g of protein you think they eat brown rice and sweet potatoes? Wrong. Jay and branch and any top pro would drink coke, eat regular potatoes white rice bread anything that totally contradicts your glycemic index argument. I feel bad for people that try to eat all their protein from chicken and brown rice.

I've heard of jay using white rice pre contest a few times, it's more processed foods I was talking about. Think about it, 50g from white bread or 50g of Green beans for dieting? The green beans, or any other carb high in fiber is better for obvious reasons. Everyone responds different, I can see what you're saying but for an average person I don't think it would be the best.

It's kinda hard to do iifym right eating processed foods because most processed good is way to high in fat. I do iifym and get most my food from good sources IMO white rice potatoes ground turkey and whey/egg whites but I will drink skim milk and cereal very low fat and high carb like rice

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Love it is this a clean and dirty meal convo

I personally look at it both ways

Athletes depending on how you train sweat out a lot of sodium and you need to replenish that sodium so keeping sodium low at all times is very bad for the body on the other hand crappy bad foods have a bunch of crappy hormones and are pumped full of chemicals I believe it horrible for the body it's different to have a cheat meal that is actually healthy if that makes any kind of sense I found pop tarts that are made out of wheat and barley and use with organic rice syrup and real fruit for sweetening

Now a days food isn't even food anymore !!!

so I do agree with eating dirty every now and then but what kind of dirty are we talking about even when I eat dirty it's organic and clean !! Organic Almond milk ice cream etc... Mc Donald's and all the other fast food chains aren't even food it's half ass meat and full blown chemicals mixed together to mimic food

It's not food it's chemicals that are flavored to taste like food

Now that being said I do enjoy McDonald's or something like that every now and then but look at it like this my common sense tells me if I eat clean for three months and then go out and binge on crappy food and I feel like shit that is my body trying to tell me something!!

But if I eat like shit for three months and then go Shove my face full of clean food I'll feel absolutely fine

I agree pros do eat shit and have to to maintain all the mass but not every pro eats like that

Phill Heath eats clean as shit even when bulking also Marc lobliner eats clean all the time as well

This is the thing it comes down to
Preference and how your body reacts if I eat like crap all the time I feel like crap if I clean I feel clean and healthy
So I vote the clean route

I always go back to this as I do believe in God !!

Back i the day it was meats fruits and veggies all natural how God intended it to be so ima go with the nutrients that he designed for the human body! There is more to be said about that than anything

Fruits veggies and things from the land were made for a reason !

I just read a study that had a family eat organic for 3 weeks after they had eaten like crap for 2 years

Urinalysis was taken while they were eating like crap and when they ate organic

When they ate organic nothing was found in their urine when they chemicals processed foods and fast food chains nothing but high levels of insecticides pesticides and other chemicals are found in their body that tells me something I don't want that crap in my body

When you're spraying the chemical on a cockroach or a bug to kill it and then you're eating it !!!
something just doesn't seem right there

That's fine then, I was more talking about people who think they can eat the shittiest foods and expect to get the same results as if they were eating clean foods because they both have the same macro ratios, if that makes sense.

phone app is back up and working!
