Currently on my cutting routine i am doing about 15-20 minutes of fast-paced rowing followed by about 35-40 minutes of the elliptical with alternating normal pace + about 30 second bursts of very high RPM to use that HIIT =].

i was wondering what are your thoughts on which is best to use to lose alot of fat and the least muscle? and please state why you think this...

i usually play basketball about once a week too since its fun and i dont consider it a grueling workout =].

i like hitting a stationary bike a few times a week, mainly for about 10 minutes before my workout to get the blood pumping, ive noticed a big difference in lifting performance.

I hit the exercise bike for 15 minutes to warm up and then I do my weights four times a week. I also hot the treadmill 6 times a week, usually do 2-3 miles. On gym days I do the treadmill after the workout. It seems to be helping me a lot. I have a bad knee so I can't do the elliptical. I think if you spent 30 minutes on a treadmill and compared it to 30 minutes on an elliptical machine you would find that you burn more calores on the elliptical.

Treadmill for me is the best....

I do what you do alternating speed.... It always gives quick results...

If I want to lose some water weight fast, 2-3 hours of Full Court Basketball always kicks my ass

I can't push myself as hard in the gym for cardio then I can with people at work on the Basketball Court. Don't want to be embarrased by being the slowest, you know. It is great for shedding excess water weight fast. Nothing like sprinting for 2-3 hours up and down a court, with breaks of course.

I come close to puking everytime we play.

I actually read something a while back that said the treadmill was the best for losing fat and an overall cardio workout.

This made perfect sense, because of how they explained it. They said that it was because more muscles were being worked on the treadmill, like to hold yourself up, vs sitting down, just don't grab onto the handles like some cheaters on the treadmill.

I'd say the treadmill for the reason above, basketball would be alot like it, but it would be harder to keep up a consistent pace in basketball.
