Ok EF bro’s here’s the story.

Going too heavy on single arm overhead dumbbell extensions = Dumb

Going too heavy on single arm overhead dumbbell extensions ,ignoring the pain and continuing to train for another 3 weeks including triceps = DUMBER!!!
Enough said….

I was due to start my test/deca/dbol run in 2 weeks time ,now with tendonitis AKA ‘ Tennis Elbow ‘ in my left arm it looks like that aint gonna be happening .

The problem is this, the gym I go to is real old school – free weights only !
Little or no machines for legs or anything else…( am joining a new gym in a couple of months )
Obviously I don’t want to stop training altogether but it aint easy putting together some kind of program to keep me lifting 4 or 5 days a week with only one arm….

All I can think of is possibly squats, deads, and dumb bell curls with my right arm…

Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated .:(

Well, do lower body only then.. you dont want to be pulling/pushing more with one side of the body and then having a lopsided upper body. Use this chance to get huge legs.

You are in Ireland? Go to the store and look for "diclofenac" gel or cream. It is a "pain killer" as they call it here in Europe (I don't call it a pain killer). They even have Deep Heet that is good. Put them on your elbow (shoulder to wrist), put an elbow sleeve on it and spend a lot of extra time warming up. Try some sets of 100 for a few weeks for triceps and biceps as well.

There are some anabolics that carry "stories" about helping in such injuries and I have friends that have "healed" injuries over a 3 week period with such things.

Thanks b fold,

yeah i can buy dicloenac gel ( difene ) over here..its a pretty good anti-inflamatory and i have being using it on and off for the past 2 weeks.
To be honest it has'nt done much but i am using an ice pack 3 times a day and now have needto's joint repair kit in hand.
The skeletal balm is kind of like deep heat and is definitely having some effect.

Sets of 100 ..holy shit LOL , i guess that is to induce the healing effect of lactic acid on the tendon ???

Anyway ill give it a try, thanks.

That is perfect. I wasn't sure what they called Diclofenac there. You can hit it with the tablets as well as the gel/creams. I wouldn't advise taking it for extended periods, watch for stomach upset and heart burn, can lead to internal bleeding (don't know anyone who had this, but I can't take it because of my ulcerative colitis...yet I do from time to time).

Ice and heat and a sleeve are probably your best bets. I do like sets of 100. I will use the E-Z bar for skull krushers and bicep curls. The first 50 seem easy and the last 25 are fire starters! You can grow from these and they will help you repair it as well. I also do tricep push downs with a band (a cable machine would work) one arm at a time for sets of 100, or sets of 25-50 alternating arms with no rest. Allows me to move a sore elbow in a better direction.

You use a pc for a long time? Rest your elbows on your hard chair or car window when you sit/drive? A lot of times these injuries are caused from TIME things that we do...not even in the gym. Just always be cautious and aware of where you are putting your elbow.

yeah bro i have them difene tabs too, i'll start taking them this week with the gel and keep hitting it with ice a couple of times a day.
i ordered an elbow sleeve on the net yesterday....there was thousands of them on ebay, hard to know which one to choose but i'm sure they are all fairly similar
ill try 100 reps tomorrow on the EZ and go light... will prob do deads and light squats too.

Dont have machine for tricep push downs...would light hammer curls be suitable or just do skull crushers ?
i definetly do rest the elbow on desk while on the pc in work and i get a quick reminder about the injury.....

Thanks for the feedback !

I don't think that exercise selection is that important in your case...just find what doesn't hurt.
