Rib cage pains after waking up

Ok, so here's the deal. There are some days that I will wake up in the morning and have TERRIBLE pains in my rib cage, just below my pecs (the very top section of my abs, I guess). I'm not sure why it happens, but I HAVE to eat immediately or it gets worse. Once I start eating, though, the pain goes away almost instantly. I don't know what the hell it is. I've had this since I was a kid, but it didn't really happen all that much.

It hasn't been happening for a while until the last couple of nights. I've started taking in a lot more calories (3500-4000) and am not hungry at all during the day. I always have a protein shake(with flax oil and psyllium husk) before I go to bed, and about a week or so ago, I added in a piece of lite bread with 2 tbsp of ANPB on it.

The strange thing is that this started happening after I finished up my bottle of Designer whey with Glycerlean. I had been using that pre-bedtime, but I finished it and am now using a different kind. I know that glycerlean supposedly has a time-release matrix thing, but I never pay much attention to that because supplement claims, more often than not, are a load of horsepucky ;) The protein powders that I have now don't make any claims to the time release matrix.

The other odd thing is that I seem to remember it happening (when I was a kid) when I would eat peanut butter before going to bed. I don't know if its just a coincidence or what. Connections?

Suggestions? This pain pukes me out of the bed and frickin sucks. I think I might go back to the glycerlean, but I'm not sure about the ANPB right before bed. Should I eat ANPB right before bed?

Do yo have GERD? I get the pain right where my rib cage splits...up underneath....Try some antacids next time

I don't think it would be GERD, no heartburn, just the ribcage thing. It goes laterally across my chest from just below the nipple line to around 2-3 inches below that, front only. No real pain in the sternum.

Hmmmm....I don't have heartburn but I get this stabbing pain....well keep it in mind it if acts up again...
