Post workout drink (meal)

I've always had a hell of a time gaining weight. I picked up some Mammoth 2500 to help supplement my diet and add in some extra calories.

Would having one of these shakes after my workout be advisable? Each shake with water contains 920 cals, 11g fat, 156g carbs, 50g protein. It's the fat I'm worried about as I've read it slows down protein absorption. Is 11g too much?

Thanks

i'd rather go with 60g of waxy maize and 50g whey immediately following your workout

then get the carbs & protein in a meal 45-60 minutes following that shake

waxy maize is a very complex and long chain form of carbohydrate and it's also sugar free, it passes through the stomach/ digests alot faster than other forms of carbohydrates so it that sense it is better as it works faster. a ton of people have recommended it to me so i just ordered it the other day, some people have said it can causes digestion problems/ cramps bc of how quickly it passes through the stomach. seems to be really good for quick carbs post workout though.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to check out the waxymaize next time my budget allows it.

Since I already have the Mammoth 2500 and it's been opened, I'm stuck with it. So can I use it as a post workout drink, or should I save it for another time during the day.

Right now I'm sitting at 160lbs, 9% BF. My goal is to eventually hit about 185.

Thanks

hey man, I noticed you said youve got a hard time gaining weight. Thus implying your a "hard gainer". There is NO SUCH THING.
Post current diet up and ask people the crit it.
Most times people that are "hard gainers" arnt simply eating enough.
