please explain how the puking feeling occurs when lifting...

I rarely get this feeling, but when I did arms I had that feeling. I am just curious about the mechanics of the actualy feeling. how it is first initiated.
 
No, it is actually nausea in response to your body releasing GH. Your body releases GH in response to exercise when you are young... the GH release makes you want to puke. It usually passes in about 2 minutes.

It's a good thing.
 
well i remember from track that after sprinting and such, you'll hae a large increase in lactic acid in your blood supply...some of which ends up in your stomach. this is why you will puke after a hard 400m sprint.
 
I always thought that it was from all the blood leaving the stomach rushing to the muscles in need of it...then returning...

when you have a hardcore workout in which you feel nauseous, it's because you've subjected your body to tremendous stress. this in turn causes your body to go into a mild shock which may result in nausea, faintness, dizziness. i'm not too sure that this would be too good since a lot of cortisol is released to help out gluconeogenesis. if i ever felt that i had to puke in the gym, i'd have some carbs STAT!!!!
