Hello all!

Just out of curiosity, how wide are you hands when doing chins (for lat spread).

Should they be a little bit wider than shoulder width or MUCH wider?

reply please!

Thanks!

Aren't Chins palm facing you, and pullups palms away?

If so I don't see how you can do chins with a wide grip, personally my arms just don't bend all around like that.

As for my experience I've found close grip chins (curl your arms up and see where they naturally fall) works well for lats, and pullsups need to be wide other wise they tend to work my bis more than back.

Well I always make my palms facing away (chins). So what I was working my friggin' arms and not my back??? (if my width was only a bit wider than shoulder width)

just outside shoulder width is right. anything wider and you shorten your range of motion. the lats dont attach at the elbow, so why go wide? its all about biomechanics. the wider you go, it doesnt mean the wider youll get.

Do palms facing you so you put your biceps in their strongest position. That was your lats will recieve more stimulation before your biceps give out.

I always thought that chins was palms away(guess i was wrong) anyhow i tried the palms facing you chins the other day as i had never done them before. They put to much stress on my wrists and felt very uncomfortable. I dont believe this is the norm though as when i do puch ups i have to do them on my knuckles because i physically cannot get my hands to lie flat on the floor.

(to much wanking)
