Define my Target Weight

Well, i need some input on this.

When i first started losing weight (I was 283, 5'11", 48 waist) i thought that 180 or so would be a good target. Basically, my goal was to not necessarly be muscular, but to just have a normal amount of body fat for an untrained body, say 17% or so.

Now i'm 214, and looking in the mirror, i can tell that 180 ain't gonna cut it for my 17% goal, so what should i shoot for?

I'm almost a 38 waist. Actually, i can fit into it now, its just to snug for my personal liking. I have a medium frame, and just "seeing into the future" i can see a 32 or 34 waist, 170lbs, but this seems out of proportion to me for some reason (or am i just nuts). My dad used to be heavy into karate and was very lean @ 205 w/ a 38 waist, that has been my comparision, perhaps its been a bad one?

Basically my goal of being as slim as possible doesn't cut it any more. I want to have some specifics in mind :D

i wouldnt bother looking at the scale. Just go by what the mirror telling u man. Looking at scales is just a bad idea.

But if i do need to set a target for u it would be a lot higher then 180. Since you were that heavy your body should be acoustemd to carrying a lot of weigth around so your muscles should be larger all of them selves. Go for around 200 or 210. PLus set this as a shorter term goal always have longer term goals that shoot for the starts. i wanna see you 220 ripped :p

Well, i figure i need to drop to 170 or 180 and kill the fat before i can bulk up that high???

On further note, i'm offically overweight and no longer obese ;)

Atkins, low carb.

I plan on switching over to a CKD when i get about 5 or 10 lbs from my goal, then doing a small bulking phase, not much, i just want definition.

5'11" You should be about 200 with a 32-34 waist and about 17-18 inch arms and around 25 inch quads if you lift @10%bf but if you want to be a normal Joe then about 170 is good.

my advice it to not just try to lose the fat. Try to lose the fat with the extra muscle that you build while lifting. If you get extra LBM your caloric expenditure will be far greater then it was. Just pump some heavy iron and watch you diet.

Well at least thats my stupid opinion:think:
