arms or wrists not strong enough??

My legs can handle a lot of weight, however, my arms are another story. Last night I had to stop doing some reps for my legs (holding weights and steping on stairs, lunges, squats) because my arms (or wrists couldn't handle holding the weights that long (reps of 23/21/18/16 for each leg so really (46/42/36/32) and I am not sure what to do.

As well, the next day I can hardly finish my reps for my biceps/back. I switched the day for my biceps/back.

Now do I just use lower weights or keeping trucking on and my arms will get stronger?????

**I had the SAME problem when I first started lifting heavier. I got some wrist straps to help me out....and now I have NO problem at all...dont even need the wrist straps anymore. Keep trying and it will get better...just know your limits so you dont get hurt. Good luck !!! ;)

I know this sounds silly, but I am glad somebody else had the same problem, I wasn't sure if anybody knew what I meant. So the wrist straps supported your wrists??

I mainly had this problem when I was doing military dumbell press for a shoulder workout and when ever I did ANY kind of workout with dumbells(like dumbell flat bench press). I kept trying, the straps helped me out a lot......and now like I said NO problems. Keep at it girl and it will all work out!

*I looked in my notepad....January 3rd I had 12lb(dmbls) for shoulder press....and I remember it was b.c my wrists would give out (shake and bend)...now I can do 30lbs without a problem. Also....in the very beginning when I was having problems my training partner helped me out by holding my wrists....this worked wonders as well!!! ;)

I will try all of that, (well not the the 30lb pound weights yet, ha ha )thank you!

Maybe try 'hanging out' for awhile. Literally, find a bar or doorframe or something and hang off it many times a day until the hands/forearms quit. You're working against your body weight in a static form - shouldn't be long to see good gains in grip and length of hang.

2cents from an x-rock climber!
