Starting SSAlexSS Overtraining (C) tomorrow!

Ok, I am a firm believer in not knocking something until you try it. Therefor I made a little routine for tomorrow that I am calling "SSAlexSS Overtraining". It consists of what I read about ARMagadon and One Day Arm Cure, with a little change to fit my needs.

I'll be doing 250x6 bicep/tricep/forearm training at a tempo throughout the day and drinking more whey/glutamine/creatine/ala/flax mixes than I can probably handle. I am starting at 11am and ending at 9pm.

I'll keep you all updated on if I grow or not, and be sure to complain about how much it hurts. Don't be surprised if I don't post though, since I will probably be dead/in the hospital by the end of the day.

Btw - Yeah I know this is extremely stupid and is just overtraining, but it should be fun! If it works it works, if not I'll always have the memory of my extreme stupidity :).
 
Probably not the smartest move, but my reasoning was along the same lines when I decided to do the One Day Arm Cure. Shit, it's only one day, and besides, I don't care how stupid it is, it's cool to be able to say you did something that over the top. Makes for a good story.

As to it being fun--yeah, it is, for the first 4 hours or so, then it starts sucking pretty incredibly. Trust me.

BTW, the One Day Arm Cure is *only* 64 sets. I can't imagine doing 250.
 
Since my biceps are gonna hurt like hell anyways, I decided to also do triceps/forearms which make up for the additional reps.

30 BB Curls
30 Reverse BB Curls
30 Preacher Curls
30 Concentration Curls
30 Skullcrushers
30 Forearm Curls
30 Forearm Flexors
30 Wrist Rollers

So I am only doing 120 bicep sets. If I can't handle it I may cut off my last 2 sessions which would cut 10 sets off each, but I am making sure I do atleast 20 sets of each.
 
What shall the intensity, reps, and weights look like?

You gonna spend all darn day in the gym?

Why only one tric exercise?

I havnt really decided on weight yet. I'll probably start low and build up to there until the point where I am doing failure sets and just decrease the weight from there and do forced reps to make sure I get the 6 reps each set. Nothing I read really gave details on how much weight you should use.

I have a weight system in my house that I plan to use. It's small, just a bunch of weights, a bench, and a few bars. But it'll do.

The reason for only one tri excersize is because I don't know anymore I could do with the weights I have. If I had a machine I could do something else. I may add something else, I'll see how it goes.
 
Keep us posted on the results. I'm really interested, and I'd probably give it a try if I had my own weight set at home.

My experience was that after a certain point, say hour 4 or 5, my strength pretty much evaporated. I was struggling using 5lb DBs for my exercises towards the end of the day. I sure it was freakin' hilarious to anyone who was watching me.

Sounds much better than what I did. I was at the gym for about 9 hours and ate my meals hunched up in my car in the parking lot.

a tip:

don't post threads with titles "i just did....is that good?..."

instead, you could do what Advaik is doing and state you will be doing the routine tomorrow...if you find people begin flaming you, you can lie and say "well, i didnt do it after everything you guys said"

OR

you could have posted a link to the routine and asked for feedback.

makes sense eh?

After doing my first 2 routines of my planned schedule, I decided that it was taking too long to switch the weights, so I changed it a bit to make it easier. I am doing this routine every 30 minutes:

5x6 Dips
5x6 Skullcrushers
5x6 Standing BB Curls
5x6 Standing DB Curls

I also decided to take the forearm lifts out until the end of the day. My fear is if I start doing them from the start, my forearms wil be too weak to hold the weights later on in the day. So my last 2 hours will also include:

5x6 Wrist Flexors
5x6 Wrist Curls
5x3 Wrist Rollers

Every hour I drink one of my homebrew drink mixes which contains Whey, Creatine, Glutamine, ALA, Flax Oil, Carb Mix, and Mutli Vitamins/Minerals. It's nasty as hell, but I've been drinking this mix since I started lifting a few years ago and it's been doing wonders.

So far it's going good. Well, back to lifting :).

Do that routine!

And tell us how it works!


So maybe people would stop bugging me about it. Routine works period.

Try to start doing it as early as possible.
