That said natural flavors and lecithin are in EVERYTHING - it's scary when you start to read labels. (I hope I don't sound read bitchy when I bring this up - I'm bitchy because I'm mad at what is all of foods - so that might come out in my *cough* tone sometimes so let me apologize now - :) )

In regard to soy lecithin the manner in which it is separated from the soy oil does remove much of the allergen but it does not remove all of it and the factories that process these items don't always clean out their vats properly which means there is cross contamination but since it is so small it's not enough to raise concern in processing or consumption.

The most studies I've found in regard to soy lecithin as an allergen to be avoided are in Pediatric studies (most likely because of the use of soy in baby formulas). When dealing with a child's allergy to soy product they will tell a parent to avoid lecithin as well.

SOY ALIASES

These are foods and other products commonly made from soy. Soy Meal and Oil are used in a number of industrial products such as inks, soaps, cosmetics, etc. Read labels carefully. The inhaler Atrovent contains soy.

AKARA EDAMAME (Green Vegetable Soybeans) Looks like a string bean HYDROLYZED VEGETABLE PROTEIN or HYDROLYZED PROTEIN (in most soups)
SOY FLOUR (bread, crackers, cookies, cakes)
ISOLATED SOY PROTEIN
LECITHIN (in some butter, corn margarine, frying sprays such as Pam, chocolate, dried eggs and dried egg whites, ice cream)
ISOLATES
MARGARINE MISO
MAYONNAISE NATTO
MONO and DIGLYCERIDES (in most ice creams)
OLEAN (no fat potato chips and other snacks)
MONO SODIUM GLUTAMATE (MSG) (in pork breakfast sausages)
NATURAL FLAVORS (if they don't say what natural flavor such as natural vanilla or natural lemon then it's MSG : Mono Sodium Glutamate)
(in soft drinks, many fruit drinks, yogurt, ice cream, many breakfast cereals, dehydrated potatoes, candy, cakes, cookies, mustard, pickles, catsup, tomato sauce, tomato paste, cottage cheese, some butter, barbecue sauce)
SALAD DRESSING SHOYU
SOY BEVERAGES
SOY CHEESE
SOY MEAL
SOY OIL (Crisco)
SOY PROTEIN CONCENTRATES
SOY SAUCE (and many other oriental sauces)
TAMARI VEGETABLE BROTH (turkey, tuna, processed foods and meats)
TEMPEH VEGETABLE PROTEIN (hot dogs, processed foods and meat, tofu)
TERIYAKI VITAMIN E (made from soy)

VEGETABLE OIL (usually blended with soy and other oils)

Soy is also found in:
Hair prodcuts
Body and face creams
Aveno prodcuts (some)

My allergy to it might just be insanely high but you can actually watch me swell up, hear me wheeze and break out in hives with 12-24 hours. (I won't even get into the debilitating headaches, stomach bloat and uh colon related issues).

Soy is evil. :evil:

Thanks Velvet. I highly agree that soy is evil. I am highly allergic to it and eggs. Both are in everything. But....I didnt know that they are also in soap, makeup products, ect...Does that mean that someone who is allergic to it can also be affected by it even when its not ingested?
Dumb me..we are at the grocery store a little while ago and my friend who eats what ever he wants anytime get this samplet cookie with peanut butter. I took a bite and decided oh damn Im going to just have a cheat meal today so I had a few cookies and my throat is closing up...stomach started to bloat...and Im tired. Urgh! It sucks for us because when we want to have our cheat meal we are even limited on what we can eat. :evil:
I gain 3 pouns of ater for like 5 days to after ingesting something bad. Do you? So I am sure my weight will rise again. :rolleyes:

Was still debating on having cheats on my plan because for me it opens a book down the wrong path.) I get sick from anything bad. Bloated for days. I gain usually 3 pounds of water afterwards.
I had two cookies a little while ago and already feel the effect. Yuck..allergies soy and eggs. Its so hard to skip on chocolate. Later I will have the rest of my cheat meal at Flemings Steak House and then Im going to skip cheat meals until my bday at the end of the month. So three weeks without cheats. Urgh!

Bloated and gained 6 pounds over night from eating bad. I am swollen all over. Totally wasnt worht it today. I will have to think of another way to cheat when I do cheat and finds processed junk that doesnt have soy and eggs in it. I am sure what I had yesterday probably had it all in it. Yuck! Hope the water weight comes off fast.

Damn cigaweeds! :rolleyes: It affects people time awareness. lol She better hurry up. I live in Az so if you dont start early you cook a third of the way up. Literally!

Great hike....Im so dumb...urgh..I put my chest part of the hrt rate monitor on and forgot the watch part. OMG! Blonde moment for sure. Was a great hike!
