Question about "Aunt Flo"

Hi - I recently started working out with weights more often. Previously, I did cardio for 1/2 hour to an hour per day, and only used hand weights once or twice a week for about a half an hour. Over the past few months, I've added 45 minutes of Pilates per day and 45 minutes of weights 5 0r 6 days per week.

I've notciced that my periods have been extremely heavy for the past couple of months, and wondered if it might have anything to do with the increased weight training. Has anyone else had this problem? I probably should just go see a doctor, but I HATE the gyno...

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

hey girl!! i dunno:confused: mine usually stops or becomes irregular when i train hard...

check with the gyno baby..... i know i know.... :(

Yeck. OK, I guess I'll have too. Mine are normally pretty light and easy - no cramps or any of that stuff, but lately... Whoo! So I guess it's worth checking out. Thanks!

Nope - same old stuff. I did quit smoking about 6 weeks ago, though - I don't know why that would affected it, but maybe it did?

Maybe all that nasty nicotine was keeping my periods in check. LOL

Mine also varies greatly depending on what I'm eating (I have ed issues also) and how much I'm working out. I know gyn appts. aren't exactly a blast to go to, but they're there to help you and they can let you know it it's a diet/exercise issue or something else. I personally think that the relief of knowing I'm physically okay far surpasses the less-than-fun experience of a gyn exam.

On a postive note though, it's nifty that you stopped and realized that. A lot of women are terrified of their own bodies...especially from a reproductive health standpoint. Hope everything goes well for you and you do what you determine is best in your situation.

Thanks. I go once a year for a pap and all that, but I've never had any probs in that area. I suppose I'll have to break down and get it checked.

Goddamn freezing stirrups.
