Hey guys as you know I switched over to a partial westside training program that Grimmer put up for me and flapwrlfter modified,thank you again by the way. Well i was wondering one thing on a way I can change it b/c this week I felt like I didn't get all that much rest on the bench days. Since I'm competing for bench and clean&jerk. At the moment my bench is my main concern. So I was wondering:D at the moment I'm doing Mon; dynamic bench/ME back&leg, Wed; ME bench, Fri;dynamic back&leg.

??is would I be able to switch these days to Mon;dynamic bench/dynamic back&leg. Wed ME back&leg. Fri ME bench.

The reason I'm asking this is b/c like I said clean&jerks will get me a total but really it's all a form excercise and the stronger you are the more you can clean and the jerking part well if I'm doing upper body i.e. chest,shoulders,lats,tris with only one day rest in b/w then 4 days wouldn't this other way I posted be better. Just wondering any help from anyone would be appreciated. (Especially from the ones that train westside and you know who you are). Thanx again :D
 
You could move max bench to thursday but doing back and legs like that you would probably overtrian real quick because they usually require more time to recover. If you can train on thur that would be the way to go. Normally the dynamic bench day would be on sunday thats why you don't feel rested.
 
Hey GRIMM man if I could do 4 days I know it would be better but that would mean me not competing in school powerlifting, which I always look forward to doing and I would probably have to quit my part time job b/c it would be me taking too many days off. I was just wondering if this would work I just thought of it over night didn't really put all that much thought into it, just some. Thanx

Any others feel the same way. Everyone's help counts the more I get for yes or no is the way i'll go.
 
with you doing ME bench on friday you might feel a little beat up for monday speed bench.it would work beter ifyou could change the me bench to wednesday but as you said you are on a tight schedule.........it doesn't matter what days you do tem on as long as your speed and max effort are 72 hours apart,..........
 
Hey you guys I was thinking about this and I would be able to do a mon, tue, thur, fri. So I think I'ma try to do this starting tommorow. So does this mean that I would be doing mon dynamic bench tue ME back&leg thur ME bench Fri dynamic back&leg.
 
SWWWEEEEETTT I'm writing it out exactly how it would be tonight so tomm when I start lifting It'll all be good. Hey one more thing say if I was to do one day of cardio on Sunday for about 30 minutes would that be fine. It would probably consist of speed boxing, jump rope, and a lil jogging. The reason I want to start doing cardio again is b/c I feel like the fat is coming back on I know the weight is I weighed myself today and I weighed 173 lbs from 165 about two weeks ago when I quit doing cardio. Every little helps so I can stay in my weight class. One more thing which I'm making a GOAL for myself and when I set my goals I accomplish them. I plan on beating the Record for the 165lb weight class at the age of 19 years old. The record right now I believe when I last checked it was a 1375lb total. At the moment I'm somewhere in the 800's with good form on all 3 lifts that's the reason I'm counting so low if it wasn't for form I might be in the 850's+. Thanx
 
when are you planning to take the record?some cardio on sunday is not going to hurt ,......depending on when you are planning to take this record i would keep training a bit over theclass limit.get as strong as you can while heavier........
 
I agree awith mann , get heavier and stronger before you try to go for the record and then cut dawn , but thats not going to be for a while right. Anyway dokng that four day split would be better , just split the monday workout i gave you into bench mon and back legs on tues. off on wed. Max bench on thur and speed back legs on froday. You should be able to rest up enough from tuesday to friday to recover as long a you eat good. If you don't feel rested enough then i can give you some active recovery movements to help you recover quicker. Try the four day and let me know what you think
 
I plan on taking this before I'm 20 yrs old right now I'm 17. I know it'll be in the year 2003, but one thing if I get a higher total before that then HELL I'M BREAKING IT. I'm starting the 4 day split today i'll let you know how that goes. I think it'll be ALOT better and recovery wise I can recover pretty quick. About the weight thing Mann I know you posted a way for me to drop weight if needed well I've heard PowerlifterJay talk bout losing 20lbs in 3 days. How do you do that and still keep your strength?????? And Mann not that I'm at all doubting you but does that way to lose the weight in a week REALLY WORK has it been tried by more than one person b/c if it's like that then I'll keep eating and eating and probably get to 175-180 then drop so I can break the 165lb record.
