I for one think it is a travesty for people who are on gear (or have used gear) that have these "genetically gifted" bodies to encourage newcomers, veteran lifters or those than are not making any new gains to "keep at it, eat a lot, lift heavy and the cartoon-like muscle bound bodies you seek will come." It simply is not possible to make these seemingly superhuman like gains without the aide of some performance enhancing substance.
I have lifted and trained since I was 17, I now am 36. I always wanted the incredibly muscled look that some of the female pro's had/have. I even quite my job and committed myself -naturally-to achieving this. I hired a trainer, used the OTC supplements and traveled to Australia to train. Even though I have great genetics, I never, ever got close to what I use to think was a "naturally huge, muscled look." All I got was chronic neck, back and knee problems from years of pushing tons of weight and as a result of clenching my jaw-TMJ (2 surgeries to fix it) and a huge deficit in my wallet. The bone structure of my jaw never changed. Years later I tried a gear cycle and made incredible gains. Had I continued the gear there is no doubt I would have/had that superhero look that so many of the naive and gullible new comers seek. As time passes it doesn't seem that important to chase that ever elusive superhero look.
I am not asking for a complete and total admission of what goes on behind closed doors but just to be less misleading to those who admire and look to the pro's and high profile atheletes for guidance, encouragement, inspiration and hope to someday transform their bodies to something greater than the present-that's all.
