glutes workout but hams sore too ?

Hi all.

I just got a question. I did a glutes only routine for 40 minutes. The next day my glutes were sore as hell, but so were my hamstrings ? I did hams 4 days ago seperate from my glutes.

Should my hams be sore along with a glutes workout ? when I was working my butt, It was really hurting & burning, but I felt no discomfort in my hams, but today they are so sore along with my butt.

Is this normal ?

Thanks :rainbow:

When I do dead lifts, my hams sometimes get sore, too. I really have to concentrate on squeezing my glutes and feeling the burn in my ass during each rep - otherwise your hamstrings are doing a lot of the work, too.

I've found that doing dead lifts wit my legs spread shoulder width apart target my glutes better than dead lifts with my feet together.

Well the two are connected so I challenge you to work only one muscle group without affecting the other at least a little bit.

Yep. You can never totally get away from the calves burning. But it's a good thing. Just make sure they're not doing all or most of the work.

The glutes and the hamstrings are responsible for similar movements so it is not uncommon for one to be sore after working the other.
