well everything went to plan, extremely nervous until i did my first squat - just like everyone said. after that, i calmed down and got everything i aimed for and then some!
squat: 100kg, 120kg, 130kg
bench:85kg, 95kg, 102 kg (british record) then allowed a fourth attempt to beat this - andy bolton who i train with, just told me to go for 107.5kg, which i've never ever done and have been struggling on 105 in the gym due to shoulder injury. i just thought fuck it, already got a british record, might as well give it a try. went up, told myself it was 100kg and a bit, i could do it. got the bar to my chest, held it for the "press" and pressed, thought it was gonna stick and just yelled for that fucker to go up and it did - 3 white lights! so got another british record and a new pb, and it was raw
deadlift: 140kg, 160kg, 170kg..which is my gym pb and by the last one i was just ..please let me get this and get 10 out of 10 lifts..was pretty tired and my lower back was a little sore but nothing serious. as soon as i got it i just ran down on to the massage bench and nailed some pro-mass.
unfortunately no other women in my weight category so i got first place in the 75kg category, but i was happy cos i was aiming for all 9 lifts, maybe a british record on the bench and definelty wanted to pull 170kg deadlift.
met some really sound people, there were 50 lifters in total and it was one hella long day. bonded even more with my powerlifting crew as the guys were all in the 125kg and 125kg+ division so i had time to roll their knee wraps up and suit them up for their lifts.
it was ace being somewhere with so much muscle everywhere and i've qualified for the british in june 11-12th. (british powerlifting congress) so having a week off, a few relaxed weeks then it's gonna be another few months of intenseness and dedication. i want to get the squat record then (150kg) i dont think this will be that hard as 130kg isnt that hard for me and im gonna get a deadlift suit and a bench shirt.
powerifting rules!
