Hey Ladies!
Sorry for the half ass posts lately -- my only cardio equipment requires my hands so it's hard to keep the heart rate in zone and punch these little buttons. Plus I have my hands full IRL right now so not a lot of continuous downtime for thoughtful posting. Nonetheless, I'm always here for a chica in need. Don't forget it.
You just might have to nag me a little
I don't have much to say other than that I need to put my money where my mouth is and get my bodyfat tested. There is no sense in obsessing over Results/nonresults without this barometer for my goal progression.
So, I'm putting that on the shelf this morning.
What am I "taking off the shelf"? What am I choosing to think about?
Well, one of my go to's is a little trick that annoys the crap out of friends and family (lol). I call it "doing my gratitudes"... You can call it what you want. Basically, it just involves listing 10 things I'm grateful for. If I'm in a bad mood that requires some remodeling I may need to set some sort of boundary and then don't let myself cross it until I've accomplished the list. For example, I'm not getting off this damn elliptical until I can list 10 things I'm truly grateful for (this will not be hard). These things can be big, like "family", medium, or tiny like "good bicep pumps" (I call this tiny meaning specific... I know you girls have big guns). Sometimes it can be gratitude for what is not happening, "I am grateful it's not raining."
The one guideline I will give is don't fudge it... If you're not really feeling grateful for Aunt Marge and her poundcake-pushing, don't put it on your list. It will only dilute it!
Here's mine this morning:
1. An abundance of clean laundry (not having to share 3 machines with 100 people)
2. Heat
3. Fresh air (really)
4. Being able to see the stars this morning
5. Good health
6. My parents... We have had our shakes but they're being very kind and trying not to step on my fragile ego about living with them for a spell
7. My EF Chicas
8. Peace in my life. Even my diet is non-chaotic. It just feels good.
9. Old friends
10. New friends
Ok, ladies... I know, I'm a cornball... Get used to it.
I have an interview today. I'm not really sure I want this job but I'm trying to go on all the interviews I get offered and keep an open mind. I hate "acting" though... It's not me!!
Anyway, maybe I'll get to check in from "the front". Lol
