It's hilarious watching a local dude get dropped from a crit one weekend, then lap the field two weeks later.
since rider has gone ahead and commented. I live here in the south and yes, people are juicing. It's just been this past seaon I realized how widespread it was. Local 1's and 2's are all over excessive use of amphetemines, bronchial dialators(albuterol mostly), and i've even heard of a group of guys from souther VA using something that helps guys pick-up chicks and these guys have started using it with good results apparently and is a close reletive to a date rape drug. It's also of some note that a friend of a friend who travels with a few guys from t-town on occasion works in a hospital that had EPo stolen from it. But this is from a source that's only reliable as his results(loverb). Chris Pic is clean, I know this much. For the rest of the american pro-peloton, I can't say. Pro's and their performance enhancement regimes are tightly, tightly, tightly rapped and most who do do banned sub. it's in the off season when there's not drug testing. I know a cross rider who races the NC cyclo series and juices for the upcoming season without worry of a test. I don't want to be part of a discussion though that turns into a "who's on? what are they on?" and point fingers. That's gay and very french. I'm sure some people I know read this forum too and you guys probably aren't aware of some people you ride with reading this forum.
and also, I wanted to comment on the level of racing in the NE. Albeit i'm usually only there for the bigger events. The speed and intensity is pretty immpressive and much harder compared to the pretty easy races from here to texas to VA. You guys also know how to keep your heads together better. One time last year in a crit in GA, i pushed a guy on to the back of the line and when i expected a thankyou when he turned around, i got "i'm gonna kill you!" i laughed and didn't think anything of it. After the race, i found out that he was serious. with a one-two to the face i was on my ass , but two seconds later, he had about 15 guys doing what i should have done before he even had a chance to dis-mount. that's just one instance of people taking this shit too seriously around here. I mean it is serious bus. because we spend so much time and money, but it's a precursor to fun and power. In nj this past summer, I had accidently come over on someone (rides for cyclewerks or something on a cdale, he was in Univest with me last year too) at 60kph and i was clearly negligent. I really didn't say sorry cause i was expecting a earful, it never came... just a "wake-up sticklets!" afterward, i apologized so that I don't get my ass whooped agin, and to my discovery, the dude was really cool and we stayed with him for L' betimi or however you spell it.
Are my posts too long?
