you may be right. considering his statements of starving on the current diet plan, wanting to try to build a little more muscle as he is cutting, and the cycle he is on it seems verry likely to me that this diet will do fine. milk and banannas may bloat a lot of people, but for how long? people are scared of a little bloat as if its fat. it only takes a day or 2 to lose. if the milk and bananna are helping preserve mass and they are in fact good for you why cut them? this new anti milk and fruit wave is killing me. milk and fruit have always been and always will be a huge contributor to a bb'ers diet.
Milk and Fruit in my opinion is fantastic during bulking and maintenance. But the sugars from milk(lactose) and the sucrose/fructose mix from fruit can be hazardous to a shred out... even in smaller doses. That's why as a matter of habit, I just cut them out of the main portion of the diet. When I do a re-feed I incorporate milk and fruit at moderate doses. I love eating fruit on a lean bulk or maintenance (3 pieces a day or so). For cutting much better to get the nutrients from stuff like freeze dried superfood.
The other part of the milk thing is obviously bloat. Some people bloat a lot, some people bloat a little, some don't bloat at all. But when you have your diet down to detail mode... you throw weight out the window, calipers can be ineffective, mirror is best judge of progress. If you are bloated it it can skew your perception of progress. At some point dieting down under 10% becomes a game of inches and small diet tweaks to push through. The better you can see changes, the better you can make them.
