Cardio first thing in the morning?

Clero

I know the best time to do cardio is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. This is not possible for me because the gym does not open early enough. Will the results of my cardio be drastically different if I do it in the evening. Also which is better, other than first thing in the morning, early evening or closer to when I go to sleep? If all else fails I guess I could go to another gym, however I like where I am going. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.:D

Weird, all gyms should open early in the morning.

Yes, it will make a bit of a difference due to several points.
1. Metabolism is higher earlier in the day.
2. stomach is empty so you burn stored calories.
3. Metabolism slows down in the evening.

Although, the morning is better due to metabolism being higher, the point is not necessarily when in the day exactly, you should simpy exercise on an empty stomach. So if you get up in the morning and eat 7 pancakes, 8 whole eggs and 3 bowls of cereal, it still defeats the purpose :o)

Try to exercise when you havent eaten anything for a few hours. The problem is also that this is hard to do any other time during the day other than the morning, because when will you find a time where you haven't eaten for several hours.
That is why the morning just happens to fit.

When winter time comes it should be fun running through 3 feet of snow!! he is in Canada not the sierra desert like you gymtime. But still you could run up until like october or november and not freeze your nads off. But if you are dedicated to losing some serious fat do it in the morning and invest in a better gym.. just curious what time does your gym open?

Hmmmmm.....good point. I'm so used to making sure I get up early enough to run before it gets too damn hot.

Gonna have to find a 24hr gym then I suppose. A lot of the chains are doing that now. But keep in mind that many of the supposed 24-hour gyms are actually open 24 hours on WEEKDAYS only. On weekends, they have odd hours.
