Any guess at my bodyfat? And where to go from here?

I tell yea what man I would say around 28%
Not to sound harsh but I suspect you are holding alot of fat in the thighs becuase of the way your fat is spread out .

I think you should start with going to the diet section and ask tatayana about how to fix it.

hey man, 28% would make me obese wouldn't it? lol. But yeah man, your right, certainly got the fat on the hips, thighs and arse.

But anyway, thanks to Tatyana's advice, I got some bf calipers now, I've come up as 20.2%, really surprised, slightly skeptical but I think I look alot leaner than the photos now.

I've also got a girlfriend now too which has just spurred me on even more.

Whilst it's in my mind I'm heading over to the diet section :P

I would guess 20 ish. Great that you have made so much progress, congrat's. Keep your diet tight and train to build muscle, instead of training to lose fat. You'd be suprised how fast the fat comes off.

i agree with you to a certain extent. . .more muscle = more metabolism = more calorie burning, even when you sleep. . .however, judging by the pics, i'd say dave's body-type probably isn't a lot different than mine. . .that said, i'd say more cardio is in order. . .as you have suggested dave, step it up to every day instead of every other day. . .also, if you can do cardio in the a.m. on an empty stomach 2 or 3 times a week (and don't eat for an hour afterward), you might notice some improvement from that as well. . .other than that, keep training with the weights and fiddle around with your diet. . .high protien/moderate fat/low carb works best for me. . .and i still give myself 1 or 2 cheat days a week too

<------- that's me, i'm 43, i have a wife and 3 kids and i work 6 or 7 days a week pretty much year round. . .if i can do it, you can too :)

hit the cardio at 90min every day and dont eat any chips :)

if i did 90 minutes of cardio a day i'd probably shrivel up to nothing. . .i honestly believe that in most instances 20 to 30 minutes of fairly intense cardio per day, combined with moderate to intense weight training and a good diet is all you need. . .

dude I think you look great, considering your old enough to be my father. :artist:

When you say our body types are similiar, what do you mean by that, what type are we?

Luckily for me, I live across the road from a 400m running track, when the weathers warmer I'm going to start doing running in the morning. To be honest, I've tried this before, but I could barely manage 800m, but when I get back into it, I'm going to pace myself more, my hearts stronger now, I have more drive too. I want to be able to run at least a mile!

My diets by no means on form but I've definitly educated myself to the point where I am no longer ignorant about what goes in my mouth and everything is healthy/high protein.

a cross between ectomorph and endomorph. . .leaning more towards the endomorphic. . .if i eat the typical american diet (high carb) and don't exercise much, i can gain body fat pretty easily but i'd never be able to get morbidly obese, AND, no matter how perfect my diet is, i have definite genetic limitations with regard to muscle mass. . .
