30minutes of Cardio +empty stomach = Passed out?

yep, i had a lovely exprience today at 7am, i didn't go to bed last night because there was no point after talking online till almost 4am, so i decided i would leave early and hit up the gym before work for some nice early morning cardio, im feeling just dandy and start my cardio (i use a stationary bike), 10 mins go by doing great still have plenty of energy....20mins starting to feel the run down but still going, 30 minutes and im done and still feeling just normal though tired, i stop the program on the bike and begin to get up, i take one step down off the bike and the room starts to spin and then im out, only to be woken up by my friend the owner using smelling salts to wake my stupid ass up....only thing i wonder is, i have done this before and its never happened anyone give me any possibilities as to why this might have happened?

i chowed down an entire box of granola bars when i got up

oh no!!! did you kind of feel a rush starting at your feet going up to your head???

you may need more sodium....people think if you pass out you need sugar..but you really need salt...

I've passed out a few times in the past year...and the docs told me to make sure to get enough sodium!!!!

unfortunately one of those times I was going up the stairs trying to go to bed...woke up at the bottom, head under a chair...now I have a back scar to remember it always...:(

The reason you passed out is because your body had to turn to muscle for it's energy. You were running off your own muscle, which your body doesn't really like to do, it causes you to be extremly weak, after all, muscle is what makes you strong, so to use it as fuel will do the opposite of it's intent.
You may not of passed out before when you did this, because you might of had enough sleep, remember, your body repairs itself the most in sleep. It's called hypertrophy.
My advice, and it's only advice, would be to eat before working out and cardio, and get plenty of sleep. I mean the biggest guys in the world (i.e. bodybuilders) sleep and eat all day, so think about that for a while.
