what can be done about tresspassers?

I`ll try to explain briefly. These 2 kids about every Friday or Saturday night walk through my neighbor`s/mother-in-law`s yard (yes my neighbor is my MIL) lol That`s another subject.

They do this between about Midnight to 2 AM. They live opposite MIL`s house, back to back, but they`re too lazy to walk around the block I guess.

It`s not really a HUGE deal but you don`t want people just walking around your house in the middle of the night. They walk from the front of the house, through the gait in the back yard , THEN jump the fence seperating the 2 yards. There`s a chain on the gate that you have to physically remove to open the gate.

The cops were called before from another neighbor, but apparently that did nothing. These kids are known assholes too.

If I waited for them one night with my night vision video camera, would that do it for the cops? or maybe scare them off?

I had that problem once. We moved into a new neighborhood and the hoodlums decided to test me. They would walk right thru the middle of my yard, I would see them thru the window. I waited one day when I knew they would come walking thru, opened the door to meet them, and simply said, "Don't walk thru my yard." That's all it took. That and an intimidating look.

advise the kids/parents of the their rights regarding
criminal trespass and request that the police
arrest them at any time after that if they spot
them on your property...

you can contact the local juvenile officers and
file a complaint with the juvenile prosecutor and
go to court with your video and other evidence...

most states case law, will allow you to order someone
off your property, then block their progress or gently
remove them, and then escalate to hard force if needed
to remove them or protect yourself...

all the above, amounts to pissing up a rope...which
is why those are the proscribed legal methods...

just get a good crossman pellet rifle...you did say that
they do this at night...

i wouldnt...and you cannot use deadly force in
defense of property (maybe still can in texas) unless
you are in your home...

technically, the model penal code allows the "use of
confinement as protective force" but you may open
yourself up to all kinds of civil liability...

and your state may not have adopted that section of
the MPC...

I`d love to sit on THEIR property in the dark and aim at them. This way if there`s a complaint to the cops, you`ll see the shots came from their house. Everybody will think their father did it to them. He`s just as crazy as they are. lol

In the past, when I have had problems with people, I find it effective to accidentally run them over a few times with your car or SUV.

Afterewards you can cool off with a refreshing lavendar bath, which is refreshing and relaxing.

Sign and date them.

Put one up on all four corners of the property - very visible to someone walking by or onto the property.

Every single time some crosses that trespass sign and see them - go out there and point out the sign - tell them that if it happens again you'll call the police.

If they're as wasted at 2am as I think they are
they won't want bright lights in their eyes.

I like the security light idea. You could also put up another (taller) fence. I'd probably just get a big dog and let him out.

I was thinking of those really loud alarms that just detach from itself to go off. The battery operated ones. Tape it to the gate and when they open it at 1 AM it wakes EVERYBODY up. I want the whole neighborhood to know what`s going on. I should actually keep the siren sounding untill the cops come AND THEN TELL THEM WHY IT`S SOUNDING. After a few weeks of this I think the problem will somehow be rectified.

They had 2 German Shepherds and they died not too long ago. Come to think of it, This problem did`nt exist untill then. lol

They had the dogs for about 14 years.

I just bought a "personal alarm" online actually bought 2 of them. They`re small and have a 9volt battery powering them. You pull the cord and it has a 130db siren that sounds. I`m gonna attatch it to the bottom of the gate and ALL HELL IS GONNA BREAK LOOSE. When those dudes come through.

I`m not even gonna tell anybody I put it there. Just say if they come through your property, you`ll know. lol

The sound supposed to last for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on the 9 volt. lol It won`t be on that long.

on a side note. That personal alarm thing is`nt bad for women/joggers or shoppers you can put it around your wrist and if pulled or I think there`s a button you press also, the siren goes off. pretty interesting. for safety. Like if you ever get dumped off in NYC outside a restaurant and you have to walk home or something.
