Training Split

Mighty Mouse 21

New member
I've been working out pretty hard for about 4 months after a 1 1/2 year layoff, my current training split is :

Mon - Tris 4 sets of 4 or 5 exercises
Tues - Back 4 sets of 5 exercises
Wed - Legs 4 sets of 5 exercises
Thurs - Chest 4 sets of 7 exercises
Fri - Bis 4 sets of 5 exedrcises
Sat - Shoulders 4 sets of 5 or 6 exercises
Sun - off

So far I've had good gains, but with all the talk about over-training I've wondering if maybe I could be getting beeter gains. I'm 5'8 185lbs. 9% bf and looking to put on some serious size. What are your opinions on this, I've figured that as long as I'm giving each body part enough rest then it should be okay. Another question is whether I"m doing too much volume?

IMO...very bad idea training the 2 biggest body parts back to back (legs & back).

it can take anywhere from 48-72 hours for ATP stores to get back to 100% after training big muscles like that. even if your diet and post work nutrition is on (and rest).

I'm a big believer in having off days after legs and back for recuperation.

Mighty Mouse - I know what you mean about feeling lazy - lately I have to force myself to take rest days....my family thinks I'm obsessive....maybe they're right...

...but force yourself to rest if you must....it really is essential....
