A lot of people at the gym have been asking me what I am doing especially other woman.

Once I tell them that I am at the gym twice a day for around 2-3 hours total in addition to a tight diet there eyes kind glaze over and lose interest real quick. I guess they are hoping I tell them that I am on the latest fad diet or about some magical pill I took. I guess a lot of hard work and dedication is not the answer they are looking  Oh another thing pissing me off as of late when people that know I see a trainer say oh he is doing such a great job. Umm yeah he helped set up the diet and training program but I am the one working my ass off to get the results

People suk.. good for you hun.. i know it sucks when you are really into something and people don't share.. your happiness for it:P

Yeah, once you start talking diet, they aren't interested anymore. I've had that happen tons, and I just tell them diet is the key and stop there. If I go into detail, they become uninterested real quick!

Usually if you say you're on a competition diet, people will leave you alone because "competition" just sounds too hard core. Or you can really mess w/ people and just say you are trying the Atkins diet. Or you can just pull your hat down a bit further, turn up the tunes on the headphones and stare at them blindly.

... actually that's what my trainer trains like. You do NOT talk to him while he's training. And his face says "Stay the fuck away if you value your life".

I also agree when peeps ask how long I've been training w/ my trainer - like -- since March. But NO my current results are not just from March. The last 23 yrs of lifting may have had something to do w/ it ....

Hey Girl,

Ya know it annoys more when someone IN the gym asks me how did I lose my weight, or what are you doing? Those be the same one's that be socializing. WTF you mean, how did I? I worked my ass off, and I changed my eating habits. And, sho enuff, that's when they walk away. Unbelievable. I can deal a lil more with people that don't go to the gym at all.

People admire our effort even though they do not have the strenght to take the first step towards improvement. If not, they would not be asking.

This is why I love this sport... because things that are hard to achieve are the ones that are valued the most.

In the past so many people asked me to help them get their diet... and you get to know all sorts of people, from the ones that leave the diet after two weeks (not because it was so strict or even competition, because with the addition or removal of two /three foods their diet were more clean)... to the ones who want a workout routine without having to follow any kind of diet (????!!!)... and the ones that want diets without the removal of chocolate, cheese, bacon, etc. and wish not to include any veggies or almonds or even fish.

Nobody said this was easy. :twirl:

I just had this goofy conversation w/ this guy at work who has a tendency to persist in asking dumb questions and then commenting on how I sound like I'm getting defensive. Then you are stuck trying to just explain enough to make him go away so I get back to work. Fails every time. Just one of those guys who just doesn't catch a hint.

But I guess when you are in the gym, you are around people in close proximity and some people feel like they need to make small talk or somethign to be polite. And the obvious topic is why you are in the gym. So I guess, you have to expect this to a certain degree. And just live w/ it. They aren't asking questions to be rude. Just trying to make conversation or they are truly interested in how you made progress.

Don't get me wrong I like to hear the complimants that go with the asking how ;) Best one as of late was from a trainer at my gym stopped training her client just to tell me how good I look.

Next time, while keeping a very serious straight face say, "I make sure I eat plenty of organic bacon and get a lot of rest". And when they stare at you in shock and and say, "really?" You then say, "No, not really." and walk off.
