Serious Growth OR Titan Training

Whatsup? I have just finished Phase 1 of the Serious Growth, Big Beyong Belief program and I was reading up about Titan Training. I was wondering all of your opinions that have tried one program or the other.

I just wanted everyone to post their results and maybe help me decide whether or not to move onto Phase 2 of this program or start with Titan Training. I am trying to decide if maybe I would get better results with Titan Training but honestly I am not familiar with Titan Training or with Serious Growth so I am not exactly sure.

EVERYONE PLEASE REPLY ASAP

What are your results with the Serious Growth system? Are you happy with the results experienced so far? You may want to stick with SG for a while longer IF you are achieving good results from it. But the Titan Training system only calls for 4 day a week training (albeit extremely intensely) so you may be able to better stick with the system as it is far simpler, makes less demands on your time and social life, and is advertised as being far superior to SG in every way.

Kind regards,
Jeremy

Jeremy21 whatsup dude? I havnt really gotten to the point where I can say what my results are so far. The entire first phase (3 weeks) is basically just overtraining the shit out of my body. I mean its a lot sets per bodypart, training each muscle group 3 times per week, working out twice a day.

Right now I am basically just totally overtrained to be completely honest. I dont think I am any weaker or tired all the time or have any of the symtoms of overtraining but I cant figure out how I wouldnt be overtraining hitting each muscle group NINE times in the last 21 days. I understand that philosophy behind Serious Growth because during Phase 2 you cut back on the volume and really start to explode in muscle supposedly. Thats when all of your gains come according to everything I have read.

I understand that Titan Training is only 4x per week which fits a lot more conveniently into most people's schedules. It seems to be a lot more intense with the musclerounds as they call them. I am, like everyone else in this sport, after RESULTS (increases in lean body mass, strength, muscle definition, clarity, vasculariy, lowered bodyfat). Whatever program will allow me to achieve great results the shortest amount of time is the program that I will be using. Regardless of convenience, time, etc.

About Costa, yes I did try the original BBB. I even paid my $300 consulting fee for him to evaluate my progress (that was back in '95). What a rip off! I stopped following him and his products because he believes in high volume (at least he did in the original BBB, I don't know if he changed). My original post tells why the high volume is an irrational approach to bodybuilding. High volume literally breaks every physiological rule for muscle growth. You'll have to let me know how you do on his new program. By the way, the first consulting letter he sent to me said that since I was a beginer, I should start by doing only the basic exercises. He recommended for me to only a couple of sets of 10. He more or less told me to do a HIT routine which was contridictory to his BBB book. I wish I kept the letter, because he was basically telling me that the BBB was to much for me. After that, I started reading about Mentzer, and I concluded he was the right road to follow. If Costa's program doesn't deliver for you, and you want to seriously try HIT again, email me. I give my email address as my location in the top left corner by my name.
PS- I just read that Titan training is only 4x/week instead of 6. Sounds like Costa is starting to get the idea about overtraining.

Hmm.. I'd stick with SG for now, get through the entire program then evaluate your starting & ending results and see if its worth the time and effort for you. Remember to eat a crap load of protein (approximately 1.5-2 grams per lbs of bodyweight) and get plenty of rest. It is alot more difficult than it seems, for me it is anyway. Eating all that protein and getting that amount of sleep is hard for me as I ain't a huge eater nor do I enjoy sleeping much but it is important to do it or your progress could be cut in half. The SG system appears to be extremely good for people who have the lifestyle suited to it and you'd probably gain faster on the program than many others with the possible exception of Titan Training.

That being said the SG system has had quite a few detractors, but again many of the people who the program wasn't working for probably got an average of 5-6 hours of sleep a night and ate an average of 50 grams of protein a day.

Don't worry to an excessive degree about where your calories come from bro, not at this point anyway. When you are ready to seriously diet down for a bobybuilding contest then of course you need to be extremely anal about everything you put in your mouth but for now just relax and enjoy life. A candy bar a day isn't gonna hurt ya at all. Just don't go crazy on the junk food, it ain't good for ya =) Remember that it is extremely hard to lose alot of fat and build a great degree of muscle mass at the same time. You have to focus predominantly on one , then the other. With your diet try to plan the weekend for "cheat days". Eat as clean as you can Monday-Friday then you'll have saturday & sunday to pig out. As your discipline & desire slowly increase, along with positive changes in your body, then decrease your cheat days to just one day a week. Remember, a diet is only as good as you can stick with it.

Take care buddy,
Jeremy
