Thank you girls! Its beyond exciting - I have to figure out the part about closing out my life here & getting all my shit there, but that will all fall into place....

And if I make sure to spend lots of time in the gym I won't be spending money out at the mall or on gas ... :)



Flor - hmmm- girl you need to eat & train! A-dex - it probably helped w/ some estrogen-related fat but its only a supplement...
 
Congrats on the job offer Sassy!! LOL all that shit about the makeup, protein powder, ect. I am lucky if I throw on bronzer and clear lip gloss..my co-workers must think I am such a slob...but I will not sacrifice an hour of my morning training to look pretty...I will definitely subscribe to a new log ! Can't wait to hear about the adventure of finding a new place, ect...Change of scenery is exciting, even if it means leaving where you are used to ..Good luck to you.. Hope they have a serious gym there for your BTW workouts, no pu--ies allowed there! :rainbow:
 
Thx m! It will be fun. Just found out I got my base salary bumped by $2500! Wohoo! Never hurts to ask!

There is a really nice Gold's gym in the area (didn't ask membership rates :worried: ) and a 24 Hr Fitness that I didnt' go to but I drove by - wasn't real impressed w/ the exterior.

I should be out there one way or the other by June 4!

Wiley realtor we're dealing w/ - he's playing me off another unit in the complex that has the identical floor plan but is $4K cheaper than mine. Still haggling but I got no problem showing up w/ a check to make this happen. :)
 
Deal closed :) I put up $1500 cash and I'm done :) Yay! Paperwork underway and I need a nap. I don't think I slept at all last nite.
 
No paperwork yet. The guy asked if he could move the closing date up a day because he needs to vacate his apt by 5/30. I'm trying to figure out where I can move me & the cat to either locally or in SFO for a few days while stuff is in transit.

The next challenge I took on was finding out what it takes to ship an 18 lb cat across the country. Poor kitty. He has no idea what he's in for. He's gonna hate my gets when he gets to Cali. So far I've discovered he's about 15 lb too heavy to bring as "carry on baggage" and they won't do checked baggage after May 15. So he has to go as air cargo - which means dropping him off like a box at Fed Ex. This is going to be interesting. Also looks like I can fly 1 way on Airtran for about $150 and he will cost aeround $300 to ship. (fat boy!)

I hate that I have to sit through a last week of the 2 week notice I gave at work. I was trying to be professional about it but so far all I do is sit there & look on craigslist for apartments.

I'll be so glad when the logistical stuff is set in stone.

Next I have to see what it costs to ship a car....

I do worry about the cat tho - he's just sitting there going "What?" - he has no idea what he's in for and I have never put him thru the stress of getting shipped somewhere before. Poor kitty.
 
Ok, this might sound crazy but can you and kitty go for road trip instead of flying?
Kitty won't feel like a fex ex package and you don't have to worry about shipping your car.
 
Thought about it but if its just me driving 3K miles across the desert w/ cat, gas prices, wear & tear on my car, hotel stops and not much time to do it - I'm leaning very much towards the shipping. Cat doesn't travel well in a car either.

Thought about it but it won't be any advantage cost-wise - still run at least $1100 in gas and time & just being able to do it and the time frame is a huge issue.
 
Hmm I dont insure any transporters In GA or I would totally hook you up. :rose:

Vel, Im all about the road trips... my pup would just love it lol!

Still sort of in wait state, but I signed my side of the contract on my house, waiting for the final. Then I assume they will schedule an inspection of the house.

Flying back out to Cali to find a place to live & lock it in.

Come back & pack, schedule the movers, schedule the car pick up.

Waiting on the vet to call back about "How to ship a cat air cargo".


Its like there's not that much to do, but there's so much to do. EEK.

Sassy, I feel your kitty dilemma..I think mine would stroke out (god forbid) if I asked him to travel in the car...he cries the whole time going to the vet...cannot imagine shipping him all alone...jeez..but, it will only be this time..maybe buy some toys/treats to shower him with/repent.. :jenscat california girl..that will suit you perfectly, i have a feeling.. :heart:

Awwww thx ... me too!

I'm still trying to get a couple minutes w/ his vet to get details about how to have him travel. I'm hoping I can drug him up real good - now that I know how to get a cat to swallow kitty valium ;) The really good news is that cats have about a 3 minute memory, so he's usually just happy to be sitting in my lap or getting a brush :) (Its very easy to distract a cat!)

I'm soooo excited to just be done w/ work and get to finding a good place to live! 1 more day - well more like a few hours, and then I"M GONE!

LOL, Kitty valium...Sass..what's his name? (sorry if you already stated this)..mine is Dante- of course we had to give my cat an Italian name, like ours...- my mother and father love him to death, so when I moved out with the BF, they would not let me take him! SOOO, I convinced the BF (not a cat person) to let me get one of our own! He is a boy, coming Memorial Day...and his name is--Giacomo(Italian for James, my bf's name)..I am a freakin nut...BUT SO EXCITED FOR YOU AND YOUR NEW BEGINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :heart:

Love the names! My kitty is called "CC". Like ... AA, BB, CC

It could stand for many things - "cute cat", "california cat", "chubby cat", etc.
 
I'm on my last night in San Mateo - no training here but I know where they mix really good margaritas!

I'm so tired - I've been looking at apts for 3 days now. They are overpriced and very small here. I'm down to one that has a garage & washer/dryer in the suburb area and another that is in an older hi-rise w/ a laundry room on the 2nd floor & right next to a 24 Hr Fitness. Need to see the actual view from this 15th floor apt tomorrow.

Otherwise I needed a margarita. Bad. I'm chowing on take out sashimi right now.

I found an apt after 4 days of driving around San Mateo / Foster City / Burlingame. I'm pretty happy w/ it - its a bit small in the bedroom and a bit pricey in the rent, but its good and within about 3 blocks of where my office is goign to move in a few months. Although the whole city of Foster City is about 4 square miles so its not like there's far to go for anything.

I came back on the red eye flight Tues night / Wed morning - and I think I caught something on the plane because I've been sleeping most of the last 2 days. Dam.

Anyway - the next phase has started - going thru all my stuff - figure I have to reduce it all by 1/3.

I'm so excited to get moving tho!

Nope - I've already cleared out everything in my life once - 3 yrs ago -- but I'm moving into something about 1/3 the size of my place now. Gotta downsize!
 
I have a dining room set from IKEA - unfortuantely I suspect it would cost more to ship than to just go buy the thing. :( Most of the rest of my stuff is books, clothes, old shoes, paperwork. Nothing real exciting - as I said - I cleared out most of my life 3 yrs ago when I sold my place in FL.
 
:) Last nite online for a few days. Just finished dismantling my desk. Most evrything packed - just have to go around & collect the stuff to throw out -- i.e food, etc. Return my cable box. Ugh gotta write out my bills - I changed banks and my freekin check blanks didnt' come yet.

Sat AM the movers come, the car transport comes, I finish touching up the scuffs on the walls, etc., crash on the floor, eat out of tupperware, call a cab at 5 am for the trip to the airport, drop off the cat at the cargo dock, go check in, crash.

Sunday 3pm PST, I start workign on my CA residency!

If I don't get back on line before Monday / Tues - happy Memorial Day - remember those who gave for us.
 
Thx qt :) I found some "free" internet so just jumping on. A guy emailed me after I disconnected my internet about a table I'm selling so I might still get that sold before the movers come tomorrow - that would be cool!

I'll be so happy when this is over. I see a margarita w/ my name on it on Sunday night.... Chevy's of Foster City, here I come!
 
Freekin awesome how things work out - this nice young couple picked up the whole dining room set and also took the other table I couldnt' sell. So nothing left to go except what the movers are taking!

1 last garbage run tonite & i'm almost done!

The movers are here - I wish they'd hurry up - I am so exhausted and I have no car (car transport guy came this morning) and its too far to walk for a cup of coffee. I'm gonna go crash out on my back deck and catch some sun. Nothing to do until the plane leaves tomorrow morning. Thank God I can get on someone's internet right now or I'd be bored out of my mind.

Yes that margarita is looking better & better....

We can lift even do cardio forever when needed and i am the same way when exhausted!!! Too far.. :)

LOL yes I guess it is relative -- but the point is that its a fairly long walk when its 85 degrees out, I dont' want to soak the clothes I'm in with sweat. Just being practical :) At the moment I'm living w/ what I've got in my suitcase and nothing else. Until tomorrow morning, I just thank God I can tap off someone's internet service for the day. Otherwise I'm bored out of my mind.

HEY! I MADE IT! I GOTS MY OWN LEGIT CALI INTEWEBS!

Altho I'm still typing on the floor - figure 2-3 weeks to get my furniture but I'm looking for some patio furniture for the near term. The cat was shell shocked for about an hr after I picked him up at the air cargo terminal at SFO, but he perked up once we got closer to the new apartment. The last 2 days I've been hitting Target like a mad dog so I'm pretty much set (outside of getting some patio furniture.) Its been beautiful here but I wonder if I"m ever going to be warm again ... "upper 60s" seems to be the typical here.

Tomorrow I'm gonna go cruise Wine Country I think :)

I don't start work until Monday.

Honestly in just short of 3 yrs there, the only really enjoyable weekend I had was doing my show & seeing you guys. I invested nearly a year in prepping for that show and the work going into the Road to the Pros debacle and the whole time I was focusing on myself because I LOVE being in the gym w/ people are like minded & very competition focused - except all those people turned out to be shitheads, so it made the whole experience relatively empty. My turn. Fuck them. MY FUCKIN TURN!

CHecked out the Gold's last nite! Its open until 11 pm during the week - I love that - my old gym always closed at 8 pm on Friday which completely threw me affter work. They have a great selection of eqpt, lots of cardio stuff, a couple really dumbass people I had to struggle to not correct their form or at least tell them to stop doing momentum-driven cable pull-downs since I can't recommend a good physical therapist here yet.... Definitely need to check out their pilates and other stretch / core classes - I want to see if I can find someone who can maybe do some therapeutic stretching or something for me.

"Sun" - I dont' think I'm ever going to be warm again - the Bay Area by the water is nippy. Its generally in the upper 60s during the day and 55 at night. BRRRRRR.

Kitty was shell shocked for about an hr after I picked him up - he literally didnt' make any noise until about 5 minutes from my apartment. I actually got a bit worried because he's usually pretty vocal. Then he started to perk up and he's been normal ever since. Mostly just waiting for the furniture to show up so he has something to sit on. Right now he stays passed out on my inflato-bed or in the little cat couch I got him from IKEA.

LOL I started the day w/ 50 min of cardio on the community cardio eqpt - decent stuff and a TV w/ cable in the room! Best part is its right across the parking lot from my apt so I have no excuse....

Then I discovered I had a flat tire on my rental car so I got to spend most of the afternoon waiting for the tire change guy and then brought it back to the SF airport to exchange it for another car WITHOUT the donut spare tire on it. Then I went to Old Navy to buy a pair of sweats (freekin cold here today) and walked around a wine & art fair down the street and bought 2 pairs of knock off brand sunglasses for $10.

And now I'm broiling some chicken with some Trader Joe's fresh-grind lemon pepper seasoning! I can HARDLY WAIT to try that stuff - it smelled so good going on the chicken! (Now I just need my gas grill to show up...)

And that's just SATURDAY! One more day before the job starts!

Last day before school starts (ok work..) I spent it .. messing around my house, getting my nails done (OMG they were a wreck - I packed my whole house, moved everything, hauled my life & my cat across the country, unpacked, and bought a whole pile of new stuff all w/ the same set. Half of them were falling off, one was broken from 3 weeks ago. Got a whole new set & a pedicure. Then I had to buy a file set to cut back the square edges the Asian girl didnt' seem to understand that I didnt' want. A little to 'ho' for me. I passed on the flower detail on the thumbs as well....

I hit the gym tonite - leg day! Killed it, and then walked around Whole Foods completely depleted and starting to go cross-eyed from burnign up all my glycogen. But I gots me some natty PB & almond butter!

Laundry's done and clothes for first day of work ironed & laid out. Coffee pot set to go off at 6:45 and I'll be up at 6 doing cardio.

And why would I be up at 6 am doing cardio you ask?

I'm looking at doing the Flex Wheeler Classic (BB) in Fresno on Aug 18! Wohoo!

Finalizing the details of my program and then I'm looking forward to starting a new life & a new log!

I tend to do shows when I need something to focus on - even just starting a new job - I don't really know a lot of people here or have a routine set - but I can always find that in the gym!
