LMAO since I turned 41 but still didn't make it to CA, I guess I gotta come up w/ a plan while I'm stuck in GA.... thus a new log...

This is my first day at the new job. Basically need to figure out my schedule demands here and build a plan on that. No particular goals at the moment except maybe to get my body in a position to be healthy & strong going forward - at my age & w/ my recent aches & pains this means stepping back from a goal of BB competition (i.e. building mass) which has been my mindset for the last several years. The potential may be to go into figure comp next year or something, but either way, there are my specific goals:

- drop my body's 'set weight' from 160-165 to 145-150 lb
- maintain a bodyfat around 13-14%
- maintain good muscle base but can afford to drop some mass in pursuit of the lower body 'set weight'
- fit (and stay) in my size 4's :)

Beyond that, continue to focus on core strength & stability in support of my randomly recurring lower back / soft tissue problems and not aggravate various tendonitis, etc. issues.

I guess I gotta get back to work -- more stuff will be added this week.

Thank you guys! I've been frustrated because training-wise everything hurt. Diet-wise - basically the 3 weeks it took to get the final job offer was brutal -- I really lost patience w/ everything - diet went out the window, training dead in the water. And now I'm paying for it --- got squishy in the middle - I can definitely see where the couple weeks of el shitzo diet is showing itself. It always goes to my middle - back & front. UGH. NASTY FEELING. NASTY.

So I'll just have to suck it up, deal w/ the tight tops in the gym for a little while & pay attention to where I'm going. Work will pick up as I meet everyone - there's definitely a LOT of work to be done -- very fundamental stuff that will go a long way to getting the company executing much more efficiently as far as information transfer, documentation, etc etc etc. I love doing this stuff and I've already met at least 5 people who are literally begging for someone to put some structure to the existing product pile as well as the daily incoming requests from the market. The feel of the company is extremely '1999' - i.e. start up. But honestly that is what I thrived on when I was doing the startup thing back in 1999. The difference is that there is actually budget AND customers lining up to get the products. Time to get formal & bring this company into the new millenium and lead the way in this industry! Very exciting! But its going to be a lot of grunt work as well.

OK diet-wise - basically just getting out of the junk food phase. Today was rough essentially due to lack of resources & wanted to just see what facilities were available at the office. Food consisted of:

Meal 1: 7 am
1/2 c oatmeal + 1/2 scoop protein mix
1 whole egg + 2 egg whites

Meal 2: 1 pm (OMG I was getting waaay punchy walking around looking for the "food court" at the hotel complex across the street)
1/2 tuna wrap

Meal 3: 2:30 pm -- still punchy
1/2 tuna wrap

Meal 4: 6 pm -- on the drive home
2 Pure Protein bars (smaller ones = 380 cals)

Meal 5: 10 pm
1 turkey pattie
1 low carb burrito shell
1 tbsp cheese + 1 c romaine + 1 plum tomato + jalapenos + 2 tbsp salsa

Training: not really sure what the hell I'm doing - decided to try doing my usual 2 muscle groups / day split, each muscle group supersetting 3 exercises but at lower weights & reps in the range of 15-20.

Back - 3 supersets of:
- Smith DLs: 25 plates/18 x 3
- cable rows: 75/18 x 3
- DB reverse flyes: 15/15 x 3

Bis: 3 supersets of
- EZ bar curls: 40/18 x 3
- rope cable hammer curls: 30/15 25/15 20/15
- hi cable bis: 15/20 x 3

Cardio: stepper 25 minutes
 
Training looks pretty good to me...especially for "not knowing what the hell you're doing" any how :lmao: Hope you had a good day both at work and overall :rose:

I was 14% when competed 2 weeks ago. Hate to think what it is now I have also been on a shitso diet. Needed to treat the taste buds..HAHAHA
 
I think YOu will do great in Co. and about your training, You will get where you want, just be patient and It will come as it always has. patience...:heart:
 
FOr logging purposes - today was a throwaway - diet was good (brought my food) but it was slow at work waiting for people to meet w/ me - i.e. getting into their schedule. So... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Nope. At the moment my schedule is still a bit random so I'm not interested in getting detailed anything until I figure out what up. I just bought a crapload of work clothes - most of the pants are size 4-6. Upper body is just always going to be size 10-ish, med - large -- boobage, backage, bi-age.

10/27/06 --- saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalacker!

I opted to go to the costume store instead of the gym tonite (well for most nites this week) because the gym closes early & traffic sucks. But interesting issue -- remember the problems I had w/ either of my knees locking up on me... it happened again last night - so based on prior experience I pushed it out (straightened out my leg instead of sitting there w/ it stuck bent), heard the little pop where the two tendons or muscles or whatever behind the knee that got crossed. Today... the mofo hurts. I've been aware of it all week - meaning it is a little sore as if I'd hyperextended my knee or something and I haven't been in the gym since Monday. So took it easy.

Tonite -- it hurts. Right knee that is - same one that locked up & got pushed out last nite. Going to bed w/ some ibuprofen & an ice pack. What a beeyotch.

To give you an idea , its 4 pm and i've eating 1/2 c oatmeal, 3 eggs and 1 turkey pattie so far. Just a little off....

Expect 3 supersets of 2 exercises, 3 sets per exercise, rep range 15-20.

6 min elliptical warmup
15 min dynamic warmup
10 min static stretch

- walking lunges: 20/50 20/50 (step + kick) 20/50 (double lunge)
- 45 degree hyper ext, ham/glute focus: 20 x 3
Super:
- box squat (ATF squats destroy my knees...): bar/15 bar + 10s/15 bar + 25s/15
- bench step ups: 25/10 x 3
Super:
- Smith DLs: bar + 25s/15 bar+35s/15 x 2
- seated leg curl alt 1 leg: 25/25 x 3 --- these also really aggravate my knees so I keep the reps light & tight + hold

Abs:
-fit ball lower ab crunch: 25 x 3
- fitball upper ab crunch: 25 x 3

Cardio:20 stepper

Alphatuckey & Smyrnabama are jokes on how close those cities (burbs of ATL) are to the neighboring states or equivalently how far it is to drive to them from any given point in ATL Proper.

Training still taking a back seat to my work schedule. Yesterday we had a fire alarm around 4pm while we were all milling around trying to get into a conference room w/ the CEO to discuss "process". So that entailed loading up all my shit just in case the bulding burned down or they wouldn't let us back in for a long time (this includes my laptop, cooler, purse aka La Suitcase) and then hiking down 12 flights of stairs to get outside. Then we stood around another 15 minutes trying to locate the meeting members and eventually trooped across the street to a hotel (where they usually have their staff meetings.. the 4 Seasons, no less!) and finally sat there.


Tonite - halloween party at boss's house. He lives in Alphatuckey. Therefore I will be about 2 hrs on the road in traffic....

I don't think I've ever come home on Halloween and said "Damn I'm stuffed on Mexican food..." The real stuff too -- tamales, chicken in mole' sauce, mojitos, Mexican cheese, etc. Even tho I only tried like a little bit of these things, o.m.g. Skipped all the desserts too.

You know it was part of 'new job obligation' to mingle w/ the new department, plus the party was so freeking far away from my house, no way I'd make it to the gym if I went to the party. It happens. Right its just going to be like that for a while as things get settled in. Also I'm probably better off keeping to the usual food & not doign "authentic mexican" - I'd never be on a "diet"....

Well -- work is getting nutty already. Basically I have to bring a 6 yr old company into the 21st century with process & accountability, with no staff, probably little budget and no time. But they pay me :)

Go figure huh? So here's the summary for the week. There's a big presentation that they are giving on Monday to one of our biggest customers. We spend all week fucking around w/ putting it together - of course its my job to do the actual Powerpoint. They continue to tell me about this & that picture or table that I can get from so-and-so and leave me to figure out what the hell it is. I've been at work until after 8 pm most of this week and up until 2-3 am working on this. This afternoon we scheduled what I hoped was the final iteration... WRONG. The CEO decides he wants to get involved and goes off on a whole different tangent and reformats the whole presentation. Great. :rolleyes:

So we schedule a 9 am conference call TOMORROW ( :rolleyes: ) to pick up & start again. And after we scheduled it, a couple of us went out for beers.

I work in the "Midtown" area of Atlanta which is where all the little clubs & restaurants are - all w/in a block of my office. So that's pretty cool!

But yea - my whole weekend is probably shot to hell.

I hate when people don't get around to planning stuff until the last minute.

:wavey: from LoserVille - I'm here in the office again. Had a stupid conference call for 2 hrs, they pull more shit out of their ass and still waiting on input. Imagine how you can have a conversation about what you are going to build for your largest customer and there are only sales & marketing guys on the phone - no developers, no ops guys, nuttin. :worried: That is what we in the software industry call "fukt".


I bought some tall flat boots - they sort of remind me of zoot suit boots (if that makes any sense) - I will be returning them tho as I've discovered the "trade show" is actually several seated discussion & education-type sessons - more seminar than trade show. I expect I'll be ok w/ what I've got. And its only for a day. So crisis averted :)
 
They were happy but I certainly don't see it making a diff in how that place operates. That's goign to be a ground roots movement.

Yep I'm a parasite gym-wise - worked all last week & weekend, this week I'm fighting a cold & a weird very tight muscle at the top of my left calf. Maybe tonite.. this will depend on how I feel. Had that scratchy cough earlier this week & it blew up into nasty hacks where you expect a lung to fly out, but no fever. Today is better, but still a dry sore hack.

Thank God its a slow day at work - I'm sitting here FLYING on Theraflu and listening to hard trance music on Pandora.... reminds me of my raver days.

Light sticks anyone?

Man do I wish... My group would spend from Friday nite (get in before midnite, no cover) until drying out late Sunday afternoon between Ft. Lauderdale & South Beach.
 
Ibiza is a MUST for any clubber... and i love that it is not just a ravey teeny-bopper crowd... this year i was dancing with a bunch of 55 year olds at noon...

i went once to 'get it out of my system before i turned 30'... but instead became addicted and keep going back!

Its been added to the list of MUST DO's in my life. I've never been to Spain & haven't been to Europe since 1983... Damn I'm excited about that now.


... I suppose it would help to find some people who like to "trance" though... most everyone I know my age just don't...
 
I've been on my own two of the times that i've been there , been with a friend as well, sooo easy to meet people there .. life's too short to wait around for my friends to go with me.. they couldn't keep up with me anyway, ha ha!

You will LOVE it... best time to go is beginning -mid/ end Sept for the closing parties.

there is really no other place like it.... i like my nude bathing too and lots of beaches for that..

sorry for hijacking with the ibiza excitement, but it is my favourite place on earth! I'm getting the jitters just thinking about it!! wheee!!!

actually a lot of people are misinformed and they see the "wild on..." or Girls gone wild ' TV shows and think its all about naked tits drinking, and the like..

There is one very trashy side of the island and some clubs need to be avoided, but most are pretty good!

There is the hedonistic debauchery for sure... which can be all good fun
but it has fantastic , out-of this world 'proper' clubbing which is what makes me go back again and again

I'm not talking like just an instance either... It was like I left one place then you were bartending somewehere else, another place you were mingling with the crowd. You had this leather jacket on and kept stuffing your hands in the pockets... Odd... LOL
