I go by AMR...I figure my BMR right around 1400cals a day, then if I'm working out and will burn 600, that's a total of 2000. Then I want to create a deficit, so I'll actually take in 1500-1800 depending on how strict I'm being.
I've never heard the 15% in a year thing, so I can't comment on that.
