Just got the flu shot today

Day 2:

The injection site is still sore...but that seems to worst of it so far. Honestly guys, I didn't even feel the needle when I got stuck. I had to look over and see for myself...then again needles don't bother me. I am being mindful of my throat...a bit dry last night and the same this morning when I woke up. It's too early to tell if it is even anything out of the ordinary.

Oh yeah, I've been very faithful about taking my vitamin C, even before the flu shot.

Last year I got the flu for the first time since I was a kid. Hubby gets it every damn year right before Christmas or right after. I just suggested flu shots to him this morning...it's worth a try. Last year we had it together and well...you know men. He enjoyed eating bannana nut pancakes and I enjoyed cooking them.

Have you seen that commercial for the flu vaccine that you ingest nasally? I can't remember the name of it, but I just saw the commercial last night. Now that's the way to go.

Only problem with that one is that it costs about $75 to get (the flu shot costs about $15) and *most* insurances will NOT pay for it.

Additionally, it is not authorized for the elderly, infants, and those with immune disorders...the ones who need it the most!

But if you are willing to shell out the extra $$ and are young and healthy - then it sounds much better than the shot! :)

No thanks...I'll keep the extra $60 and take the shot...but that's just me!

Day 4: Feeling fine...the dry throat isn't really noticeable anymore either. Injection site is still a little tender but definitely subsiding.
