Jill Mills Diet

Just thought I would throw this out there for some input...

I read some interviews with this amazing lady, and when asked what is the one thing that people would be suprised to know about her... she said that she eats less then 2000 cals a day, and about 120 grams of protien...

This lady weighs like 185 pounds and i am sure she trains her ass off on almost a daily baisis...I see no reason for her to lie about this...Makes me think I am overeating a WHOLE BUNCH:)

Do you think it is possible to maintain her bodyweight and training with that kind of food intake??? Are some people just so gifted that it does not matter what they eat or in this case DO NOT eat? She is amazing....I was in awe when I saw her on espn.

She may also be an endomorph - that type of body has a really sluggish metabolism and has to stay lower cal to keep fat off. I wouldn't necessarily recommend comparing your kcaloric intake with hers unless you have the exact same bodytype.

Beer and salad based diet...sounds interesting. I'm on the red wine and cheese diet, at least for the rest of this week. :-)

I'm thinkin' the gear she's on MAY have something to do with the amazing slab of muscle she carries around on that 5'3" frame :FRlol:

Thing is, I was under the impression that food, and ALOT of it was needed when using gear...More food than when not using????

I thought one of the "PERK"S if you will, was that food would help in the muscle department, and have less of a chance being stored away as fat.

I thought the more gear used = the more food needed

When I layed my eyes on Jill, I was like " This women probably eats 5000 cals a day, EVERYDAY...It was a motivating factor I suppose, to make sure I ate that little extra that was on my diet(that I really did'nt want to eat), for strength and stamina...Far too long had gone by with me NOT eating enough and always wondering why I never got stronger...So now I see that even the WORLDS STRONGEST WOMAN undereats:)

Yes, I also had an impression that gear didn't magically put muscle on your body. On the contrary, diet & training is still vital. It just helps maximize your muscle gains, helps with recovery from intense training, & helps in prevention of catabolism... but again, does NOT put muscle on your body without eating & training.

So now I'm really confused.

Yes, OK, I kinda see...Genetics is a BIG player in all of this, and I no doubt see she has some of the best ones around.

I just threw out this idea because I have gotten to 7% bodyfat at a weight of 114 lbs on 1400- 1500 cals a day and I am sure Jill trains far heavier, longer than I ever had...She also out weighs me more than 50lbs...

I by know means carried NEAR the amount of perfect muscle that she does, at that bodyfat but, with that fact stated, I thought the more dense muscles the bigger the amount of food needed to feed that firey furnance..

Either way, she is one amazing lady....The type of women that could change the way many people people view muscles, strength and women..

Hmmm...could be genetics I suppose. Maybe she naturally has a little more tesosterone than your average woman. She seems to have a slightly square jaw line. Anyone know if she was on gear as a BBer? I guess the jaw thing doesn't have to be from current use- it could be residual. Like Spatts said, she could in a maintenance phase and just doing something to keep her gains. Either way...WOW!

On a side note, Jill doesn't strike me as someone who really stresses about all the petty dieting crap. Likewise, she's probably too busy to care. Maybe that same ability to not fret over the details and just WORK is what got her where she is.

Amen...a lot of top strength athlets don't worry about it either...we just EAT A LOT and TRAIN HARD!!!

"the jaw thing"

a) try moving the weight she moves around day in and day out, clenching your jaw, guess what muscles develop along with everything else?

and, b) get down to 10% bodyfat and stay there along with prominent facial musculature, then decide if it is muscle and leanness or juice.

A max bench of 100 lbs and 20+% bodyfat, juice or no juice isn't going to give anyone a square jaw.

Wow. She's just amazing.

Lot's of good thoughts here, too. I believe as long as a person is providing their body with optimal nutrition, including enough protein, you can continually make gains (both strength and LBM). And it wouldn't matter if you were eating "a ton" of food.

For some reason, I didn't think Jill Mills was shoveling alot of food into her bod. She's too smart of an athlete. If that were all it took, then alot of these women would be the Strongest Woman in the World. Jill has to eat smart and train smarter.

Also, I agree that I doubt after a day of hard training the first thing on her mind is to rush home and pull out the calipers.

I'm just starting to train "strongman" style on Fridays. If any one of you ever have a chance to try out the log clean and press, do it! Even tire flips. VERY fun. :D
