Importance Of Whole Food

if you're referring to liquid vs. whole food for protein alone, then i don't think it's that big of a deal.

however, you can only benefit by getting varying amino acid profiles from different proteins, plus the slowed digestion of whole food protein.

but for the most part, i think the whole shake vs. food thing has been blown out of proportion. i just wouldn't recommend getting all your protein from shakes.

that said, i eat 6 meals a day, and whey makes up my protein for 3 of them. the other 3 are whole food sources (chicken, eggs, fish, beef).
 
So shakes can and will work, but it's not recommended. Alright, I get it. I just wish there was some scientific backing to this. Someone needs to do some research.

i prefer to eat whole food because when u take only shakes your pissing through your ass half the night.

is their a set amount of protein you can only consume in one meal?
i usually take a 60g shake in between meals and before bed on top of a steak and a can of tuna.

shakes + a couple of pills (for vitamins,,minerals, fiber,...) would work

But is it what you want for a diet ?
 
BTW we don't really know the possible interactions between all those pills (sometimes there are huge amounts of minerals/vit)
 
Oh well, the pill thing I wouldn't do. Just mainly shakes as the meals to make it more conveinent. It's quicker and easier that way. Veggies, oatmeal, meats here and there, fish, chicken, and more would still be included. Just, if a day goes by where it's too hectic and there's a lot that needs to be done and food can't be prepared (or there's none left) the shakes will cover all the nutritional needs for that day.
