YES! a lot of it is water
your liver has these little pockets next to it that store about 6 lbs of water. When you deplete your carbs, you lose that water very quickly. (for me it takes about 5 days, but then I enter ketosis very quickly).
Then there is the water you were retaining all over that you lose usually from drinking more water as well as the low carbs.
There is really very little fat loss that first week unless you are combining it with 30+ minutes of cardio 3+ times a week. HOWEVER this is a GREAT method to lose weight fast for an event of some sort ;-) but I don't think that is what you are going for.
