How beneficial is cardio/weight lifting on alternate days?

Especially for fat loss. So lets say this is my schedule:

M: Weight Lift
T: Cardio
W: Weight Lift
Th: Cardio
F: Weight Lift
Sat: Cardio
Sun: Rest

For Cardio I would either be running on treadmill or outside on nice days. (especially for winter since I live in Canada). For Weight lifting I'll be sticking to basics: Squatting, bench, military press, deadlift, rows, maybe some bicep and tricep work once a week.

Of course diet would be clean for sure. My main questions would be:

1. Do you think this would help with fat loss?
2. When running, should I do HIIT or just jog slowly continuously for 30-45 minutes?
3. Would I be overtraining and ruining my body?

You mean fullbody workouts? Also if you are already used to do cardio, then go with HIIT for sure. I think you will have great results!

I wouldn't consider it overtraining to run thirty minutes on an alternate day. HOWEVER, what I do is incorporate high intensity cardio on the same days as your lifting. Not only do you get that extra burn, you need to let your body rest. So it's important to get a couple "off days."

Oh so would you recommend that I do the cardio on the same days as I work out? So maybe workout at around 2 and run at around 7-8pm?

No I don't think they will be full body work outs. My workouts themselves will alternate. So Monday will be Squats, Bench, Deadlifts and Wednesday would be Rows, Military, and Bis/Tris. As for cardio, unfortunately I'm not too used to it. I'm the typical lazy and kinda overweight college kid who hasn't done much for the past year except eat, study and drink beer. I will have to slowly build it up. Would you say HIIT is better or just jogging for 30 minutes or so.
