New member
i've decided to incorporate more protein into my diet. i am thinking of ordering form protein factory but dont exactly know what to get. i'll be going to school in a week so my diet probally wont be the best but i'm gonna try. i'm looking for something with basically a high load of protein per serving, as much as possible i guess you could say. anyone have any good suggestions? and what are the serving sizes?

thanks alot,
matt

Don't get to crazy about which protein you use.Just use a brand from a reputable company like TWINLABS,EAS,LABRADA,AST,SPORTPHARMA,DORIAN,MUSCLELINk,MET-RX,etc.Most serving sizes contain between 16 and 24 grams of protein per scoop(depending on size of scooper provided).Adjust your dosage according to your bodyweight and your needs.Personally,I feel protein "blends" are best(CASEIN,WHEY,ALBUMIN).

I use the whey protein concentrate(choc flavored) from the protein factory. It is only 4.25/lb, which is very inexpensive, and it does not taste too bad. Serving size info is on the site.

isopure is good. i get the 8.8 pound bucket. i go through that stuff pretty quick. i gots to have my proteins. now im largening some so its a 10 pound bucket of nlarge2 chocolate. pretty delicious.

nlagre2 is okay but a shit load of calories. i can yet my calories from other sources. i would go with pro complex by optimum nutrition. nastes great with 55 grams of protein, 2g fat, and only 4g carbs. 42.00 for 4.4lbs which gives you 34 servings. try to find that many servings for all that protein. if you can let me know.

How much you buy is up to you. I normally buy 5lbs at a time, although the first time I only purchased 2lbs. I wanted to make sure it tasted ok before buying 5lbs. Generally, you will get about 18 or 19 servings per pound, with each serving having about 18-20 grams of protein(depending on whether you use a level scoop or a heaping scoop). This is for a 60 cc scoop(commonly found in most protein powders). Be warned though, the protein factory does not provide scoops. If you do not have one, just measure out 1/3 cup of powder and use that as one serving.

Opinion about the Protein Factory

:( :( :( Here's why you might not want to buy protein, or anything else, from Protein Factory:

About July 23rd, I talked with Alex (the owner? of P.F.) and told him I needed CFM Whey Isolates for my father who has ESRD (End Stage Renal Dysfunction). He quoted me prices and turned me over to Eva, his assistant. I ordered 5lbs (1 lb ea. of choc, van. orange, banana, and unflavored). Eva quoted me shipping for UPS Ground, UPS 3day, and USPS Priority Mail. I chose Pr. Mail, since it was $5 cheaper than UPS 3day and my experience is that Pr. Mail takes only 2 to 3 days from the East Coast. Eva quoted me a total including the shipping and said my order would go out the next day.

After a week, I had not received my order. I called. Eva answered and said, "They had to wait until they went to the post office and that was just yesterday." I reminded her that she told me it would go out the next day and that the reason I chose and paid extra for Pr. Mail was to get it faster than UPS Ground. She put me on hold. Alex got on the line and told me, "We do each order custom and it can take up to a week to prepare." I told him that I wasn't told that. He said, "Well, it went out yesterday, so you'll get it in a few days." (It seems funny that a simple 5lb. order would take a week to prepare).

After another week, I still had not received the order. I tried calling Alex, but was told he was busy. So, I faxed Alex to complain about the non-receipt of my order. I stated what had already occurred and that I needed the protein to help my father with his kidney failure. Alex faxed me back. In a short sentence he half-apologized for the "inconveniences" and then spent 3 paragraphs going on about how this is going to cause "him" problems. He said that despite the "misunderstandings" I was going to get my protein. He said he "hoped I would understand the mishap." In a fax, I replied that if my shipment had gone out when I was told it would (and noted that his website states that all orders go out within 2 days), then I would have had the protein 10 days ago. I said I wouldn't be unreasonable and expect him to "overnight" it to me, but that I would appreciate it if he got it to me within 3 days, using whichever route he wanted (i.e., UPS 3day or USPS Pr. Mail).

Now STILL ANOTHER WEEK has gone by and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED my order. Nor have I received any response from Alex. (This has all the earmarks of a con. Fortunately, I paid with a MasterCard, so the charge will be reversed). I would advise anyone planning to do business with the Protein Factory to be very careful AND only pay by credit card.
