I prefer a good stair machine, like a lifestep 9500 or a true Stairmaster for about 30 minutes of interval training. I like an elliptical for constant heart rate work.

I'm confused. I thought HIIT was supposed to be great for fat loss. I always did intervals of 30 second sprints followed by a 60 second jog. I'm guessing my heart rate is getting too high and I'm burning off too much muscle. How can you do HIIT without taking the heart rate too high?

Right now I run to the park close to my house and run trails. There are many steep hills to climb and I race my dog up them. He always kicks my ass, but its still fun. Kindof a HIIT, after a hill I need to walk a bit to recover. A few of those, walk home to cool down, stretch, no more than 45 min.

When I was going to gyms I liked the step mill.

i myself like to mix it up on a treadmill.....im on a cutting routine so i usually do a 30 min cardio session.......i walk for 2 mins at 3mph, then run for 1 min at 6.5-7 mph......i alternate for 30 mins doing that WHEW that gets the metabolism up and down and up and down.....u will definately see a BIG difference with this......i can vouch for that !! Plus u will be sweating like a whore in church......

The best form of cardio by far is skipping...It is a fact that skipping takes 3 times the effort of running, gives your a good respiratory rate...Tops for fitness.
Also helps alot with fitness, everyone knows how to run, but skipping gives you balance co-ordination and that something extra.
Remember if your down for time a 10 minute skipping session is the same as a 30 minute run.

Thanks, Kustom.
