Ummm, Oh.....

So, beat up your ankles/knees/lower back to burn up "calories" which is not indicative of fat loss? Run just to run huh??

I know many aren't bodybuilders, but burning lean muscle tissue "just because" is not something I really knew anyone, regardless of goals, would really want to do. Especially seeing as the more lean mass one held ON TO, the LESS one would have to RUN.

I guess you learn something new everyday. :)

I think a person can get extremely lean without cardio......

Is there significant studies and/or scientific evidence supporting that burning calories at a higher HR doens't = the same fat lamount of fat loss as lower HR calorie burning in the end with all other things being equal?

What do you guys think about HIIT? My routine is 2 minutes at 3.8 mph then up to 5.2 for a minute, then 6.2 for another, 7.2 for another, 8.2 for another back down to 5.2 and repeat four times, on my last 8.2 minute i jack it up throughout the minute til i hit about 9.4 at the end.

not much cardio in that though chief..............

i just started playing raquetball after my workouts and i haven't had this much fun doing any type of cardio in so long. ill never use a stairmaster again if i have a partner to play raquetball with. My dad is 51 does triathalons, marathons, biking, swimming, but mostly running and hes probably the healthiest person i know. I dont know where people think running gives you bad knees. Running will only aggravate any type of knee/ankle/back/leg injury you already had. hes 51 and can outrun any firefighter at his station that is in their 20s.

for weight loss running is best. why? cause you burn the most calories during and after. you also increase your body's ability to use fat as energy.[/QUOTE]

this is true...it turns up the metabolism...

oh, yeah I see football players etc. run all the time in college and I didn't see them lose any muscle from this. Actually, sprints has shown to increase lbm... alot faster than walking on the treadmill..

good post bro!

Hrmm swimmin into dangerous waves in shark infested water.. weee. Thats motivation. Heheh playin. I like swimming the most I think.. It feels like it hits all areas plus I get a tan at the same time.
