Diet questions...

Hi everyone,

I have just been surfing the board & there is a lot of good information out there!
I have thought of a few things that I am not sure about...what is the general opinion on dairy products? I know low/fat-free cottage cheese is ok, but what about fat-free plain yogurt or low-fat/light cheese? My goal is redcue body fat & increase lean muscle mass-I want a nice toned look. I do enjoy low-fat cottage cheese as well as fat-free plain yogurt...just not sure about the cheese! How about soy milk over skim?

Actually, I think that might be it for now! There was something else, but I think I need to go to bed now-can't remember!

Thanks everyone!

Anne

Watch the yogurt....read the labels...fat-free and low-fat....does not always mean a good choice...a lot of times they have high sugar...I buy yogurt for my daughter....i saw a fat-free yogurt by Yoplait and it had 31 grams of sugar!!!!!!!!! I would not eat the cheese either...Eat good clean protein....veggies...good fats..and complex carbs.

What about if the yogurt is plain? There is one kind (can't think of the name), but I will check the sugar content next time I am at the grocery store. I know flavoured yogurt can have a lot of sugar.
Yeah, I figured cheese was out but it was worth a shot!:)

What are your thoughts on soy milk? I don't mind the taste, but I think it depends on the brand too.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

dairy is bad for any 1 who wishes to reduce body fat

Yogurt

I found some yogurt in the store that is made with splenda. I think it's Blue Bonnet - It only has 80 calories and 8 grams of sugar. It's very tasty too - makes a great dessert!

I think it's important to think about what your body NEEDS rather than what it needs to avoid.
Great advice. Focus on getting the good stuff & you'll simply be too stuffed (& too busy cooking!) from that to eat the junk.

:kaioken: Oh, how I hate that "toned" word.
