Sumo felt foreign, no doubt. I was def. using muscles in ways they weren't accustomed to. I was surprised at how tough they felt off the floor, plus balance was a bit awkward. But I think I like 'em.

Well I've always liked my upper back but with the flash on no definition/shape came through. I turned the flash off and it looks better. I wanna buy the neck harness from Ironmind and get the "pack of hot dogs" look goin', but I may need to get a GF before I do that :p

And I love the shaved head - always looks neat, no maintenance, free haircuts - what's not to like?

If you have the IM catalog, you know the pic of that mastiff and that dude's neck...good stuff.

G5.0/AB - I've had the shaved head since the early 90's. I have kind of a mean face anyway even though I'm a teddy bear ;) Still, I'd get pulled over by the cops a lot back when I had a shit car.

Look to your mother's father for mpb.

I get my hair cut every Spring whether it needs it or not. Once a year is plenty for anyone.
 
5 rep phase - workout 1 of 6

MONDAY

OK now it's time to move some iron :chomp: .

Power clean 135x3x2, 175x3x5 (5 sets of 3)
-I think I've got these down. Once I pop my hips all I do is catch it at the top vs. still pulling w/ shoulders/arms like before. My rack still needs work though.

Squat 225x3, 315x5x3
-Felt heavier than it should have. Maybe the belt helps more than I thought. Also, the leg sled guru I mentioned in an earlier post was squatting today, LITERALLY using a 6 inch ROM. I had a tough time not watching/smiling while resting b/t sets.

Standing OHP 135x5x3

BB rows 185x5x3

Pullups BWx5x2

Dips (BW+75)x5x3

It felt great to be in the 5 rep range again. As always, I'm worried about hitting my target weight on squats. 365 is a fairly high goal as it's my 5rm but I'm going for 3 sets. May need to get to the gym early that day...

WEDNESDAY

I'm beginning to think that fatigue is setting in based on how tough squats are getting - these weights shouldn't be nearly as tough as they are.

Squat warmups to 325x5x3
-These are getting brutal. My cheapo Valeo belt won't stay on; it fastens w/ velcro :rolleyes: and popped off at the bottom of the first rep on my first work set. Also, I may go back to boots (currently using wrestling shoes) as my balance didn't feel right.

Power cleans warmup to 185x3x4
-Arg. Had someone watch me and he said the bar was out too far (~6 inches away) and I'm not dipping enough when I catch it. I may sub these out for snatch pulls as the whole point is to build good habits, right?

Standing OHP warmup to 145x5x3
-gravy

BB rows 195x5x3
-Tougher than expected

Pullups BWx5x2
-I'm gonna try to add a rep every other workout - I'm NOT hanging a 5 lb plate on the belt for this :D

Dips warmup to (BW+80)x5x3
-tough
 
One rep at a time, sweet Jesus.

Just four more workouts to go then you can deload. Just one more this week and then it's the weekend. Get a new belt. :)
