Will really BAD post-comp water bloat go away, just ... naturally?

I'd really like some input here, if possible.

After my comp. I ate LOTS and LOTS of baaad carbs for 9 days, and didn't train. I went back on a nice clean iso bulking diet on Wednesday, and went back to training last night. I've done a couple of cardio sessions in the last week or so, just because it felt good.

Here's the problem: I've blown up like a huge water balloon. I've never experienced anything like this in my life. I fell asleep on the train coming home yesterday with my leg leaning against the seat post (20 minutes), and when I got home I found I had a huge DENT in my thigh, which didn't go away for 2 hours. My feet and ankles look like they died and have been lying in the sun for a few days. I wasn't too worried about it - just figured it would go away once I started training and dieting again, but my gym owner looked at my ankles last night and said I should go to a doctor because it looks like my kidneys have gone bad or something.

I know what I CAN do - drop carbs, drop sodium, drink tons of water. I'm drinking tons of water, and my sodium is fairly low anyway, but I don' wanna drop caaaaarbs :bawling: :bawling: Not now.

Is this kind of bloat fairly normal post-comp? And will it just go away if I give it another couple of weeks, or do I actually have to DO something?

Advice?

Its ok to splurge after a show but i would not do it for 9 days....when you are that lean you have to be really careful...your body will hold on to fat like crazy...its not used to that food and if you continue to eat junk for several days you can gain some serious size in a short period of time...its not good for your body at all. You may want to see your dr....push major water and keep your eating clean....train hard...do a little cardio and give it a little time...next time be more cautious......:)

It might be worth seeing your doc and getting your kidneys, lymph glands, BP etc.... checked over. Your hormones are prolly way out of whack. All that fat and carbs and sodium after a strict diet.....you may have raging imbalances of estrogen/progesterone/aldosterone etc.........I know a pro female that went from an A cup to a D cup bra in just over 6 weeks when she had a blow out post competition. Of course, she had also suddenly stopped taking AAS/ECA/T3 blah blah blah.

Until you get yourself checked out, keep the water high, the sodium moderate and the carbs under control and keep your body moving!

Drop the carbs for a while along w/ the sodium... Let your body readjust. I did the same thing after my show and had to be put on Bumex to get the water off. BP went up like crazy and I was in tachycardia... Really sucked until I got the water to come off. Very short of breath all the time. Just walking a few steps made me feel like I did cardio for 1 hr time. :(

See the dr, at least you'll get put on some good diuretics to help...

Thanks ladies.

GACK!!! OK, I'm not that bad yet, although cup size is definitely on an UP trend. Good thing I wasn't taking all that other stuff, but I did just suddenly stop all the glutamine, vitamins, aminos, etc. I've brought them and creatine back in, now. I suppose creatine isn't gonna help bloat much.

Not moving is the main problem, I think - I have a desk job, and by the evening my legs HURT the skin is stretched so tight. Carbs are relatively moderate (for me) and strictly under control, but I'm not dropping them unless things get desperate.

Doing some triple-drop sets of calf raises last night seems to have helped, and it's leg training tomorrow - I think I'll see how things go after that before I see a doctor - I detest seeing MD's, especially since all the English speaking doctors here appear to be quacks, and are outrageously expensive, too. I'm also suspicious of putting pharmaceuticals in my body.

Iron Queen, that sounds pretty bad. I haven't been short of breath, or, not that I've noticed. I guess what I really want to know is, will this just go away with training and a controlled diet, or do I actually need to take interventionist measures? And how long will it take? Is being very bloated health-threatening? Because I can live with the discomfort and ugliness for a while, but it would be nice to be able to enjoy my hard bod while I'm actually lean enough to BE hard. :(

Grr, I'm gonna have to go find a non-quack doctor. Sigh.
