i do exactly the plan at first then i continue with isolations. i work on muscles that can still be used until i work every muscle and cant do any other exercise or when i feel like fainting and cant recover after resting 5 minutes. then i stop work out
Self abuse was part of what got me addicted to training early on. But it also drove my desire to study and research what I was doing in order to maximize the damage in a positive way (yea, I said that). I liked some of the things said here about finding other outlets, or activities like bike riding. I think people have a tendency to turn really good things into less good things sometimes. The Buddha said, "It is human nature to try to reduce ones suffering, by causing oneself more suffering".
I recommend you stick with the 5x5's. 6 weeks in, you should be experiencing ample suffering, even with 5 minutes in between sets. Then go home and clean your bathroom or something. It's all good!
