train your little dogs

how come there are so many little dogs in my building that are willing to bite their owners legs to get at my dog... my dog comes in the elevator, sits down. while this next dog is behind its own, biting at her legs to get at my dog lexus. she isn't that big, she is just a boxer, but she would Fuck up any dog in my building...
i feel like just saying "let your dog go... she will teach it a lesson."

I think people baby little dogs too much and excuse bad behavior because little PuffyPoo is so adorable. That's a whole lot of BS.

I think people should go in and professionally train their dogs. Big dogs or little dogs. Properly socialize them. It doesn't matter that a dog it little, biting is unacceptable. My puppy Bits was VERY dog aggressive and even at under 2 pounds she was attacking other dogs. Every time she did I'd knuckle her hard in the nose and say no. I'd force her to be face to face with other dogs and praise her for not reacting with aggression.

The same goes for socialization with people. Dogs need to be passed around whether they like it or not. Otherwise they learn to be scared....which is the owners fault for babying the dog and giving it attention when little Fluffy is so scared.

Both of my dogs are behavior rock stars.

same with my dog.. as soon as i got her as a puppy i took her everywhere i could.. mostly the basketball courts.. she would play with everyone there... she was also around alopt of other dogs when we lived with my parents, because we fostered dogs... it just funny how everyone is scared of my dog because she looks sort of like a pitbull, but she doesn't have a mean bone in her body

The only time aggression is used in dog trianing is in response to aggression by the dog. I don't want people to think I run around beating on my dogs. lol But ultimately the dog is a liability to the owner and to itself if it's not trained. If it bites the wrong dog or person, there's going to be trouble.

People have to be VERY careful about how they train their dogs. We often don't even notice that we're reinforcing bad behavior. A scared dog shouldn't be babied. It should be either ignored or forced to do what it's scared of and praised.

There's nothing like taking a spunky dog through a few months of obedience training either. Every dog becomes a whole new creature when they're on a training collar (a choke chain). Magic.

i was training another puppy for my friend and it was so scared of me she would pee when i would go near it... so i put the leash on it and tied it to me... and started jumping and screaming around her until she was fine... now she loves me

Tough love is what you do with dogs. I really hope to get to teach people how to train someday.

OMG!!! I go through the same thing. I have to take my Samson down the steps and out the back door to avoid those rat dogs.

They always bark at him and want to bully him. He doesn't bother them at all. But, if it was reverse (I have a 78lb rottie mix) I would get a report filed against me in a minute.
