Take a look at my 5x5...

Nonseasonal I know, but take a look at the 5x5 plan I've got put together. Never done 5x5 before, but I really want to put on some size and strength before my senior year.

I'll be doing a 5 day split (rest on weekends). Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be the bigger body parts. Legs, chest, back and shoulders. I'll use the following exercises is this order:

-Squats
-Bench Press
-Deadlift
-Shoulder Press
-Rows

Tuesday and Thursday will be "easy" days so to speak. I'll be hitting, biceps, triceps, and core. Will be using the following exercises:

-Curls
-Skull Crushers
-Saxon Sidebend (2x10)
-Situps to failure (will alternate from rectus abs, to obliques)

I of course plan on doing 5 sets of 5 reps for everything. Wondering how much I should eat too. I'm 6' and 165ish... oviously my goal is to gain size, mass, and strength.

So how's she look? Do you see anyway I could improve it?

5x5 is meant to be a 3 day routine. You'll get big bis with heavy rows and explosive tris from the heavy bench. Be careful doing stuff on Tuesday and Wednesday. Could very well be overtaxing muscles.

I do....
Workout a
Squat
Bench
Row

Workout b
Squat
Overhead press
Deads

Like this. Abababababab alternate Mon wed fri. If you really want bi and tri work, do a couple sets (2x10) of weighted chin ups and tri extension. Rest Tuesday Thursdays and weekends. Works great. If you feel ok i suppose you could do some cardio on those days.

you should eat every mother fuckin thing you see.

also.. 5x5 is good and all that. but make sure if you are on your last set of 5.. go to failure

I got great results at the end of last year doing SL 5x5's for about 16 weeks. It was hard in the beginning only going to the gym 3 times a week, but I got used to it. And with squats 3 times a week, I was pretty much crippled the whole time. You should try for 4000 calories every day to really see it work. Start with nothing on the bar, or at least very little.

I add 5lbs to the lifts every time to go back and 10 to the deads (which are supposed to be 1x5) because after heavy squats you should not be able to do more than 5 reps
